This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys building and maintaining robust, secure, and scalable systems that support core business and financial operations.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain backend systems and APIs using PHP\nBuild and enhance modules related to accounting, financial reporting, invoicing, or ERP functionality\nWrite clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend developers, QA, and product/business stakeholders) to deliver functional, reliable solutions\nTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in existing systems\nEnsure data integrity, security, and compliance in financial and business-critical applications\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards and processes\nOptimise application performance and database queries\nIntegrate third-party APIs and services where required (e.g., payment gateways, banking systems, tax/compliance tools)\nDocument technical processes, system architecture, and codebase for internal knowledge sharing.\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\nStrong proficiency in PHP.\nSolid experience with a PHP framework (e.g., Laravel, CodeIgniter, Symfony, or similar)\nStrong understanding of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including query optimization\nExperience with RESTful API design and integration\nFamiliarity with version control systems (Git)\nUnderstanding of software development best practices, including testing and debugging\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail\nAbility to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment\nPreferred\nPrior experience working with accounting software, ERP systems, or financial applications (e.g., invoicing, ledgers, payroll, inventory/financial modules)\nUnderstanding of basic accounting or financial principles (double-entry bookkeeping, financial reporting, etc.)\nExperience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML/CSS) for full-stack contributions\nExperience with cloud hosting/deployment environments\nFamiliarity with data
