The ideal candidate will have expertise in real-time systems, signal processing, and algorithm development deployed on SOC. This role requires a hands-on engineer comfortable working from schematics, using bench test equipment, and writing firmware for low power processors and SOC.\nEssential Functions\nDesign, develop, and optimize embedded firmware.\nDesign for non-RTOS, state machine-based system design.\nDevelop using Real-Time Operating systems such as FreeRTOS.\nDevelop with ARM processors ranging from Cortex-M0+ SOC up to Arm-A15 multicore DSP.\nImplement device drivers to communicate with off chip peripherals.\nImplement user interfaces.\nUse secure boot loaders.\nTest, debug, and optimize code using oscilloscope, JTAG and SWD debuggers.\nWork closely with hardware and system engineers to achieve design goals.\nIntegrate USB and Wireless protocols.\nEnsure operations adhere to laws, guidelines, ISO requirements.\nComply with safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.\nRequired Education and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering\nA minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded software development\nPreferred Qualifications\nProficient in C\nHands-on experience with RTOS, and bare-metal programming\nExperience implementing DSP algorithms\nExperience with secure bootloaders supporting OTA updates\nExperience with GIT and Bitbucket\nAble to read schematics and data sheets\nSource code management using Git and Bitbucket\nExperience with Bluetooth is a plus\nWork Environment\nWell-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation and moderate noise\nMay work with or near moving mechanical equipment\nPhysical Demands\nModerate physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature to work from a sitting or standing position.\nManual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers\nMust be able to bend, stoop, squat, crouch\nMust be able to sit for long periods of time\nMust be able to lift up to ten pounds, with or without assistance\nEvery effort has been made to make this job description as complete as possible.
