The Planning & Performance Business Analyst will partner with leaders across the Conferences organization to deliver data-driven insights, performance analysis, forecasting, and business recommendations that support growth and operational excellence. This role combines analytical rigor, business acumen, and modern technology tools to enhance decision-making across the portfolio.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting cycles across the Conferences portfolio.\nManage and enhance weekly and monthly operational reporting and KPI tracking.\nProduce actionable business insights and performance recommendations through analysis of commercial, operational, marketing, and financial data.\nIdentify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance drivers, and communicate findings to business leaders in a clear and compelling manner.\nPrepare executive-level analytics, presentations, and business reviews for senior leadership.\nDevelop and maintain analytical models to support short- and long-term planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis.\nValidate and analyze large operational datasets to develop meaningful KPIs and improve business decision-making.\nConduct root cause analyses to understand performance variances and recommend corrective actions.\nPartner with stakeholders across the Conferences business to translate business questions into analytical frameworks and data-driven solutions.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives and business improvement projects.\nSupport revenue, marketing, and operational budget reporting requirements.\nIdentify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, and analytical capabilities.\nLeverage AI-enabled tools and emerging analytics technologies to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and uncover deeper business insights.\nRespond to ad hoc business analysis and operational data requests.\nExperience Requirements:\nBachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, ideally in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.\n2+ years of experience in business analysis, finance, analytics, consulting, or a related field.\nExceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable business recommendations.\nDemonstrated ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nStrong verbal, written, and presentation skills, including experience developing executive-ready materials.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Power BI, including data modeling and data visualization.\nExperience building analytical models that support forecasting, planning, and decision-making.\nFamiliarity with SQL, data querying tools, or other business intelligence technologies is a plus.\nDemonstrated ability to leverage AI and emerging analytics technologies to improve business outcomes, streamline workflows, and uncover actionable insights from complex datasets.\nStrong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.\nStrong core values aligned with Gartner's culture, including integrity, collaboration, objectivity, and a no-limits mindset.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting forecasting, budgeting, or performance management processes.\nExperience working with commercial, operational, or marketing performance metrics.\nExperience in conference, events, media, SaaS, or other data-driven business environments is a plus.\nWho are we?\nAt Gartner, Inc. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
