In addition, they will take a lead role in researching and resolving material AVT (Actual vs. Theoretical usage) and developing corrective action plans. The Materials Control Manager will be responsible for reviewing overall usage of materials within the unit and will support unit readiness for global materials audits [MMAT]. Manages tactical execution of internal materials auditing tasks including: Yield Checks, Portioning Checks, Flight Checks, Over-boarding, Over-catering, Substitutions, Waste etc\nWorks collaboratively with unit Supply Chain team to improve physical inventory management.\nSupport activities to improve inventory accuracy and reduction of overall food costs. \nProactively addresses issues leading to out-of-stocks or excess inventory.\nAccountable for reviewing monthly materials metrics with management team. \nLead continuous improvement efforts. Develop and share best practices within the region. \nSupports and leads compliance to global MM KPIs and MMAT audit. \nLead cross-department collaboration to ensure that Gate OPEX elements related to materials control are sustained. (including 5S, Kaizen events)\nDevelop action plans to ensure company policies and procedures related to inventory control and materials management are deployed properly.\nConduct department meetings and brief the team on a daily basis;\nReviews daily materials reports.\nLead Weekly Materials Meetings. Coordinates related activities/tasks including audits and item specific research. \nResponsible for MIB (material info board) and running all required reports.\nCompletes and coordinates AVT(actual versus theoretical) investigations and trouble-shooting. \nWorks with financial controllers or procurement teams to complete ad hoc financial analysis related to out-of-stocks, substitutions, PPV, etc.\nSupport bill-backs to customers on product deviations. \nParticipates in make or buy process and analysis.\nResponsible for the annual performance evaluations of direct reports in compliance with the PA&P guidelines and regional/local initiatives.\nMust have schedule flexibility to complete research and audits at various times/days as required. \nParticipates with monthly physical inventory process.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation:\nBachelors’ degree in a relevant subject or business management\nDesirable specialization in logistics and/or supply chain management\nWork Experience:\nAt least 5 years’ experience working within logistics or supply chain in a manufacturing environment\nExperience managing inventory and materials within an ERP system\nExperience working within a cross-functional team\nDemonstrated experience of process improvement design and implementation\nExperience of working in a Food Hygiene/Health & Safety/High Security environment preferred.\nPrevious knowledge of Airline Catering operations is preferred, but not essential.\nTechnical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)\nProficient knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook, BI and SharePoint)\nFunctional knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and Inventory Control\nJob Skills:\nCapable of working in an autonomous way and in team setting\nCapable of working under pressure with tight deadlines\nSelf-motivated and proactive\nFlexible and change-minded. Willing to learn and implement new processes and procedures\nMust have excellent people skills with a result driven approach\nMust have solid mathematical and analytical skills. \nLanguage / Communication Skills:\nFluent in written and verbal English language.
