This role involves developing and implementing strategies to achieve key objectives related to manufacturing efficiency, lean initiatives, factory layout optimization, employee safety management, quality improvement, financial performance, and overall operational productivity.\nResponsibilities:\nOptimize manufacturing processes for improved efficiency through ongoing assessment and performance metric evaluation.\nDevelop and maintain workforce strategies to meet departmental needs and collaborate with teams to enhance skill levels and adaptability.\nOptimize factory layouts to improve workflow, reduce handling time, and enhance workspace design for maximum productivity.\nDrive quality improvement initiatives, implement first-pass yield enhancement strategies, and monitor quality metrics for products.\nContribute to cost-saving initiatives, collaborate with financial teams to optimize production cost metrics, and support efforts to increase net profit margin.\nLead problem-solving efforts and troubleshoot issues related to raw materials, machinery, tooling, and shop processes.\nImplement and oversee safety training and policies for a continuous safe working environment.\nLead and oversee the Supervisors/Team Leads across test, assembly, fabrication, and machining operations, while also supervising, coaching, and participating in the training of production Team Leads to optimize overall operational productivity and teamwork.\nCreate and manage budgets and justify capital expenditures while overseeing implementation.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related technical field.\nDemonstrated ability to lead staff effectively, meet production demands, and proactively develop personnel and teams.\nStrong decision-making and analytical skills with a data-driven approach.\nProven results in lean manufacturing and process improvement.\n6 years or more of experience in operations management, process improvement, and knowledge of Lean principles and methodologies.\nProficiency in data analysis tools and project management software.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills.\nPreferred Skills:\nProven track record in a Production Manager role or a similar capacity.\nComprehensive understanding of OSHA safety regulations.\nProficiency in developing contingency plans to mitigate the effects of supply chain disruptions and fluctuations in product demand.\nExperience in managing the production of complex, customized, high-tech products.\nGatesAir offers a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401k matching and vacation starting out at 3 weeks annually.
