Staff maintain certifications including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), First Aid/CPR, and have access to continuing education to stay current in the field.\nPosition Specific Duties/Responsibilities\nPlan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with GED test objectives\nDevelop and update lesson plans, instructional materials, and progress reports\nSupport students in setting and achieving academic and career goals\nProvide differentiated instruction to meet individual learning needs\nMonitor student progress through formal and informal assessments\nMaintain accurate attendance and performance records\nPrepare students for GED testing with practice exams and test-taking strategies\nCollaborate with GED testing site coordinators, Life Skills Coordinator, and other staff\nIntegrate digital tools and technology to enhance instruction and engagement\nParticipate in team meetings, professional development, and supervision\nMaintain required certifications, including NYS teaching certification, TCI, and First Aid/CPR\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Principal or supervisors\nRequirements\nQualifications\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in Education or related field\nValid teaching certification\nKnowledge of GED testing requirements and special education learning principles\nPreferred:\nExperience teaching in education or GED preparation programs\nBilingual (English/Spanish or other language)\nFamiliarity with digital tools and online learning platforms\nCommitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion\nWe want to emphasize that the preferred qualifications are not required and that we are committed to helping our future colleagues develop these preferred skills.
