Staff maintain certifications including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and First Aid/CPR, provided by the agency.\nPosition Specific Duties/Responsibilities\nSupport the classroom Teacher in directing student behavior and activities to accomplish goals\nCreate a learning climate that fosters intellectual, social, and emotional development\nAssist students with classwork and special instructional projects\nProvide information that supports the development of appropriate learning experiences\nAssist in developing classroom materials and resources\nSupervise students during transitions, in hallways, and in lunchrooms as needed\nOperate classroom support equipment (reproduction and clerical devices)\nMaintain records of student progress as directed\nAttend Service Plan Reviews when requested by the Teacher\nSupport the campus-wide PBIS program\nAttend team meetings, mandatory in-service trainings, and supervision sessions\nMaintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and First Aid/CPR certification provided by the agency\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Teacher or Principal\nRequirements\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to work effectively with youth, families, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds\nStrong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team\nAbility to adapt to change, remain flexible, and respond effectively to student needs\nAbility to manage challenging student behaviors, including working with emotionally disturbed or learning-disabled students\nProficient in communication across multiple mediums (logbooks, email, telephone)\nAbility to maintain accurate records and follow instructions from supervisory staff\nQualifications\nHigh School diploma or equivalent (required)\nTeacher Assistant Certification (preferred)\nExperience working with emotionally disturbed and/or learning-disabled students (preferred, but not required)\nValid driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and compliance with agency driving policy\nAbility to pass an annual physical per agency health policy (Category 3 classification)\nCompliance with agency safety standards and healthy work environment practices\nCommitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion\nWe want to emphasize that the preferred qualifications are not required and that we are committed to helping our future colleagues develop these preferred skills.
