Staff maintain certifications including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and First Aid/CPR, provided by the agency.\nPosition Specific Duties/Responsibilities\nDirect student behavior and activities to support academic and social-emotional goals\nCreate a learning climate that fosters intellectual, social, and emotional development\nMaintain accurate records of student progress and ensure credit for work accomplished\nProvide instruction to individuals or groups of students on core science curriculum and special projects\nDevelop instructional plans and materials to maximize student learning potential\nCommunicate with parents/guardians bi-weekly regarding student progress\nAttend CSE, SPR, team, and content meetings to support collaboration and planning\nSupervise assigned Teacher’s Aide and provide guidance for student support\nSupport the campus-wide PBIS program and participate in school activities as needed\nSupervise students during transitions, hallways, and lunchroom when necessary\nPrepare academic and sociological reports for CSE meetings\nMaintain valid NYS certification and agency-required trainings\nUpdate daily records, including cottage notes and progress notes\nAttend mandatory in-service training, supervision sessions, and additional professional development opportunities\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Principal\nRequirements\nSKILL, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nMinimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills\nRequired: Provisional or Permanent teaching certification in an academic core area and/or in special education.\nPreferred: Masters Degree in a core academic area.
