The successful candidate will develop messaging, create engaging content, manage editorial calendars, own key communication channels, and ensure Gateway communicates with one clear, consistent voice across every touchpoint.\nThis is a highly collaborative, hands-on role that works closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, Brand & Operations to translate messaging into marketing campaigns, creative assets, and customer experiences. In a lean organization, both roles are expected to collaborate, support one another, and contribute wherever needed while maintaining clear ownership of their primary responsibilities.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nCommunications Strategy & Editorial Planning\nPartner with the Vice President of Marketing to develop and execute Gateway's internal and external communications strategy.\nDevelop integrated communication plans supporting brand campaigns, business priorities, recruiting, product launches, executive communications, employee engagement, and corporate initiatives.\nBuild and manage editorial and content calendars across website, public relations, internal communications, social media, sales enablement, and executive communications.\nEnsure all communications reinforce Gateway's mission, values, brand pillars, and Gold Standard positioning.\nCopywriting, Content Development & Storytelling\nServe as Gateway's primary writer and editor across all communication channels.\nWrite website copy, landing pages, brochures, presentations, sales messaging, email communications, executive messaging, press releases, campaign copy, customer communications, internal communications, and thought leadership content.\nDevelop messaging frameworks that ensure consistency across all communications.\nTranslate complex topics into clear, compelling, audience-appropriate communications.\nInterview employees, customers, veterinary partners, executives, and subject matter experts to uncover meaningful stories.\nDevelop customer testimonials, employee stories, case studies, executive thought leadership, and success stories.\nCollect team member testimonials that strengthen recruiting, culture, and employer branding.\nEdit and refine content created by executives, internal teams, and agency partners.\nPartner with the Senior Marketing Manager to bring messaging to life through compelling creative assets and integrated campaigns.\nWebsite, Public Relations & Social Media\nDevelop website messaging and copy for corporate websites, landing pages, educational resources, and recruiting content.\nWrite press releases, award submissions, media materials, executive talking points, company announcements, and thought leadership content.\nSupport speaking engagements, media opportunities, and public relations initiatives.\nDevelop Gateway's social media content strategy and editorial calendar.\nWrite engaging social media content supporting recruiting, education, company culture, customer engagement, and brand awareness.\nPartner with the Senior Marketing Manager on campaign execution and performance optimization.\nInternal Communications\nThe Water Bowl\nOwn and manage The Water Bowl, Gateway's employee intranet.\nPublish company news, leadership communications, HR updates, employee stories, campaign updates, recognition programs, and organizational announcements.\nMaintain an engaging editorial calendar that keeps employees informed and connected.\nSupport employee engagement while reinforcing Gateway's culture and values.\nGateway TV\nOwn Gateway TV as Gateway's internal communications channel.\nDevelop messaging for employee recognition, leadership updates, safety communications, HR announcements, campaigns, and company news.\nEnsure employees receive timely, engaging, and consistent communications across all locations.\nHR Communications & Employer Brand\nPartner closely with the VP of Marketing and Human Resources to support employer branding, recruiting communications, onboarding, employee engagement, recognition programs, leadership communications, and change management initiatives.\nHelp bring Gateway's culture and values to life through meaningful employee storytelling and communication.\nSales Communications & Showpad\nOwn the messaging, content strategy, and organization of Gateway's Showpad sales enablement platform.\nDevelop messaging for sales presentations, battle cards, one-pagers, customer stories, case studies, sales email templates, and customer-facing communications.\nPartner with Sales to identify content needs and continuously improve sales messaging.\nWork closely with the Senior Marketing Manager to package, distribute, maintain, and improve sales materials based on field feedback.\nVideo & Multimedia Content\nWrite scripts for brand videos, customer testimonials, employee stories, leadership messages, recruiting videos, training content, and social media videos.\nCapture simple photo and video content using a mobile phone while visiting care centers, customers, employees, and events.\nTransform interviews, photos, and raw video into compelling content across multiple communication channels.\nPartner with the Senior Marketing Manager, Head of Design, and external production partners on larger multimedia projects.\nBrand Stewardship\nMaintain Gateway's brand voice across all communications.\nPartner closely with the Head of Design to ensure written and visual communications work together to create a consistent, engaging brand experience.\nDevelop messaging guidelines, writing standards, communication templates, and editorial best practices.\nEnsure all communications align with Gateway's visual identity, brand standards, and creative direction.\nEducation, Training & Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, or a related field.\n7+ years of experience in corporate communications, content marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related communications role.\nExceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.\nExperience developing communication strategies and editorial calendars.\nExperience writing website content, sales collateral, internal communications, public relations materials, and social media content.\nStrong interviewing skills with the ability to uncover stories and translate conversations into compelling content.\nExperience partnering with executives and cross-functional business leaders.\nComfortable capturing simple photo and video content using a mobile phone and transforming it into engaging communications.\nStrong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nExperience using Canva to create or edit branded communication materials.\nExcellent collaboration, relationship-building, and presentation skills.\nPreferred\nExperience managing employee intranet platforms and internal communications channels.\nExperience
