In this role you will develop vehicle and hardware tests and validation plans focusing on reliability and durability based upon the requirements provided. Additionally you will develop test profiles, run and manage these tests, collect and interpret the data and submit test reports summarizing the results. You will work closely with other internal and external teams to ensure that your test-plans and tests meet the needs of the project goals and provide valuable feedback to the development process. You will run tests internally as well as working with external vendors for the testing and validation of our cutting edge autonomy components and systems. \nThis role is onsite 5 days a week at our Santa Clara, CA office.\nWhat you'll do\nCreate reliability test and validation plans for AV hardware components and subsystem\nLead and organize DFMEA efforts within the Hardware and Vehicle groups\nInstrument & Collect data to support component testing and validation plan creation\nDesign custom test profiles as needed utilizing field measurements and requirements\nPerform tests internally and manage outsourced testing activities as needed\nInterpret test data and generate reports to provide feedback to the cross-functional teams\nDesign, assemble, operate and maintain test equipment and infrastructure\nLead test campaigns for the components or subsystems\nSupport the creation of reliability and performance benchmarks for custom components\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support testable requirement creation\nWhat we’re looking for\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field\n5+ years of engineering testing & validation experience in the hardware space with a strong focus on designing & managing validation plans\nSeveral years of hands-on experience in the automotive, trucking, aerospace, robotics, or automation industry\nExperience defining and managing mechanical and environmental tests for components that are integrated into vehicles or robots\nExperience with vehicle communication protocols (CAN/LIN/Automotive ethernet)\nExperience with setting up and collecting data with data acquisition systems for testing purposes\nExperience in selection & usage of equipment such as as accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, etc\nExperience with processing data collected with DAQ (CANbus/LIN/Automotive Ethernet)\nFamiliarity using measured data to create HALT tests for accelerated testing\nExperience with CAD tools\nBonus Qualifications\nExperience with sensor technology such as camera, ultrasound, lidar, and radar \nFamiliarity to automate workflows (macros or data analysis) \nFamiliarity with MatLab and/or Python \nSalary Range - $160,000-$220,000\nMore about Gatik\nFounded in 2017 by experts in autonomous vehicle technology, Gatik has rapidly expanded its presence to Mountain View, Dallas-Fort Worth, Arkansas, and Toronto.
