The Virtual Designer is instrumental in developing fabrication-ready designs, supporting production teams, and continuously improving design standards through real-world feedback.\nA successful candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to grow their technical capabilities in electrical design, BIM, and modular construction.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, Drafting & Documentation\nDevelop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings using Revit and BIM/CAD tools\nProduce fabrication-ready shop drawings, including layouts, wiring diagrams, equipment placement, and structural details\nReview project specifications, electrical drawings, and design requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance\nCreate, update, and manage drawings throughout the full project lifecycle\nPrepare and interpret record drawings based on field and production input\nMaintain organized digital files and ensure proper document control and revision tracking\nProduction & Project Support\nPartner closely with manufacturing teams to clarify design intent and resolve drawing-related questions in real time\nSupport estimating, scheduling, and project teams with accurate and up-to-date design information\nCoordinate design updates to maintain production efficiency and workflow continuity\nAssist in resolving design conflicts and constructability issues\nCoordination & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nCoordinate designs with electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and special systems models\nWork closely with engineering, project management, procurement, and field teams to ensure alignment with project requirements\nCommunicate design changes clearly and proactively across stakeholders\nCoordinate layout and installation requirements to support field execution\nContinuous Improvement & Standardization\nCollect and incorporate feedback from production teams to improve manufacturability and design efficiency\nSupport the development of standardized templates, component libraries, and repeatable skid configurations\nApply lessons learned to optimize future designs and reduce engineering cycle time\nStay current with industry trends, design standards, and construction best practices\nAdministrative & Organizational Support\nManage workload across multiple projects while meeting deadlines and deliverables\nMaintain accurate project documentation and records\nTrack milestones, revisions, and project updates with attention to detail\nHandle sensitive project information with professionalism and confidentiality\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or GED required\nExperience\nEntry-level to early-career experience with Revit or similar CAD/BIM tools\nExposure to BIM applications in construction, manufacturing, or design environments\nSkills & Competencies\nFoundational understanding of:\nElectrical drawings and layouts\nOne-line diagrams and panel schedules\nConduit systems and installation requirements\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications\nStrong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality\nEffective communication and collaboration skills across teams\nProficiency in Microsoft Office\nHighly organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in modular construction, prefabrication, or skid-based system design\nFamiliarity with electrical room layouts, switchgear, MCCs, or related equipment\nKnowledge of manufacturing or fabrication
