Coordinates, collaborates, and communicates best practices in simulation within the GBMC Healthcare System while providing oversight for simulation throughout the organization. Manages the human, fiscal and other resources of the center.Education\nAssociate’s degree in Healthcare or a related field required.\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Healthcare a related field preferred.\nFour to eight years of direct experience working with simulation programs and a completed training in a simulation program in lieu of degree will be considered.\n Experience\nFive (5) years’ relevant experience within a clinical setting or healthcare environment with two (2) years’ experience applying educational and simulation concepts, including program planning and evaluation.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nKnowledge of simulation and adult educational theories to assess, plan, implement and evaluate quality simulation programs.\nAnalytic skills necessary to develop and evaluate simulation programs, and assess learning needs of staff.\nDemonstrated knowledge of multiple operating systems and multimedia software.\nAnalytical skills necessary to organize and supervise the work of others.\nDevelop and administer evidence-based policies, procedures, budgets and simulation practices.\nProven leadership skills and the ability to present and apply professional knowledge with competence.\nExperience with a variety of low and high fidelity simulation manikins.\n Licensures, Certifications\nCertification as C.P.R. instructor by American Heart Association required.\nCertification in Simulation or complete a Simulation Educator Certificate Program preferred.\nRequired to obtain Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification within 2-years of hire.\nPhysical Requirements\nAble to perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include activities related to patient care.\nWorking Conditions\nWorks alternatively in classroom, office or patient care areas with little exposure to excessive noise, dust or temperature.\nConditions of Employment\nMaintain valid licensures & certifications\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities\nManage budget and make recommendation for capital and operating purchases that will enhance simulation teaching.\nSelect departmental staff and manage the performance and development of assigned staff.\nCollaborate at all levels of the organization to meet individual and unit needs for improved quality of patient care.\nMake recommendations and participate in the establishment and maintenance of procedures within the simulation arena.\nDevelop and evaluate simulation programs to meet the learning needs of the staff through formal and informal platforms.\nCollaborate with leadership to assist with the creation and implementation of meaningful, relevant simulation activities.\nDevelop and deliver simulation education to appropriate key stakeholders.\nPursue educational activities to broaden knowledge base regarding standards of simulation use in clinical education.\nEnsure effective day-to-day operation of the SILC.\nCollect, analyze and track data with respect to simulation center activities and make recommendations to continuously improve the SILC and its contribution to education and organizational capability.\nMaintain security of lab and lab equipment and oversee the resource list of all lab, simulation equipment, audiovisuals, and technology devices, including hardware and software.\nEnsure there is a master schedule of activities of the center.\nPerform other duties as assigned\nAll roles must demonstrate GBMC Values\nGBMC Values\nValue Description\nRespect\nI will treat everyone with courtesy.
