As a Hardware Engineer, a typical day will include the following duties:\nJob Description:\nWe are looking for a Solder and Mechanical Assembly Technician to perform standard compliant solder and mechanical assembly of electronics and hardware in a small custom hardware development environment. Candidates should be able to install and solder components on PCBs, including surface-mount and through-hole components, following IPC standards, perform hand soldering, and paste reflow soldering. Mechanical experience includes performing electro-mechanical assembly and disassembly, create custom electronic harnesses, and familiarity with RF antenna mechanical and cable assembly. Candidate will perform inspections and quality assurance testing. The ideal candidate will be IPC certified, has strong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong documentation skills.\nSolder and Mechanical Assembly Technician qualifications:\nPerform standard compliant solder and mechanical assembly of electronics and hardware in a small custom hardware development environment.\nSoldering:\n\nInstall and solder components on PCBs, including surface-mount and through-hole components, following IPC standards and workmanship requirements.\n\nExcellent hand soldering skills.\n\nExperience with paste reflow soldering.\n\nFamiliarity with BGA/microchip rework machine.\n\nSetting up, operating, and monitoring automated equipment like Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines, pick-and-place (PNP) machines, and soldering systems.\n\nAbility to perform PCB rework and repair.\n\nMechanical:\n\nExperience with performing electro-mechanical assembly and disassembly.\n\nReview and assemble products according to assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions.\n\nAssemble components manually using hand tools and bench mounted tools.\n\nAbility to create custom electronic harness assemblies.\n\nFamiliarity with RF antenna mechanical and cable assembly(coax, u.fl, N-type)\n\nQuality Assurance:\n\nPerform receiving inspections of PCBs.\n\nPerform quality checks, identify defects, and ensure adherence to product specifications.\n\nExperience with X-ray electronic inspection imagery.\nGeneral:\n\nIPC CIS certifications (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610/620, and 7711/7721).\n\nWorking knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with parts, assemblies, and equipment.\n\nWork directly with development team to provide design feedback with emphasis on DFM and DFA.\n\nExperience using lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and continuity testers.\n\nStrong documentation skills for all work that is performed including the ability to produce electronics assembly documentation.\n\nPerforms other related duties as assigned by management.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nDesired Associates or Bachelors Degree in Electronics Technology or similar or the equivalent combination of education.\nMinimum five (5)years of related hardware engineering experience.\n*A candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.\nEqual
