You will work closely with operations to drive implementation of programs to ensure all federal, state, and local EHS regulatory and GE management system requirements are met.The Evendale Infrastructure organization is responsible for operating, and maintaining, the entire Evendale campus and is made up of over 200 hourly employees and 100 salaried employees. The successful candidate must be a proven leader, facilitator, and coach to promote EHS culture and ensure compliance to EHS regulatory requirements with a continuous improvement mindset. This position will act as a part of the broader Evendale EHS organization, which supports 6000+ campus wide employees, and is a VPP certified as well as Title VEPA site.\nJob Description\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nWork closely with the operations team to identify and address EHS issues related to site operations, equipment and site design, installation, and commissioning, including providing and presenting EHS KPIs\nParticipate in audits, conduct worker observations, and complete risk assessments across the labs to assess compliance and effectiveness of campus EHS programs\nCoach to closure any improvement opportunities identified through such assessments\nEmpower represented employees to own elements of sites EHS programs, establishing a culture where EHS is a priority for all\nOwn development of area risk assessment (Safety RAs, JSAs, etc.) \nAssist with accident and event investigations, determine proper root cause, and implement effective countermeasure to prevent future incidents\nCoordinate Management of Change (MOC) & equipment readiness (Orange Tag Process) for activities within their supported groups\nReview and maintain EHS training matrix for supported employees. Ensure relevant EHS training is available as new processes, equipment, and requirements are developed\nAssist with EHS program implementation, identify gaps, and provide guidance on improvement opportunities\nWork with employees and achieve cultural change in a union environment\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years EHS experience)\nAt least an additional 3 years of experience in EHS with a focus in a manufacturing/ industrial environment {or GE Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) Graduate}\nDesired Characteristics:\nAbility to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside GE Aviation (customers and regulatory agencies) as needed\nStrong interpersonal skills (training/presentation, facilitation, team building, communication)\nExperience in machining and/or lab environments\nStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations\nDemonstrated ability to communicate to others about process safety and impact the culture in a positive way\nHumble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn\nTransparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively\nFocused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed\nLeadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative\nProblem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker\nGE Aerospace offers comprehensive benefits and programs to support your health and, along with programs like HealthAhead, your physical, emotional, financial and social wellbeing.
