In this role, you will work with various team members to innovate solutions for high temperature coating.\nJob Description\n\nSite Overview\nEstablished in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.\nRoles Overview:\n· Explore new areas on ceramics relevant to GE Aerospace.\n· Ensure laboratory safety through meticulous adherence to protocols, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and fostering a secure environment for research activities.\n· Execute research projects related to aerospace materials and repair technologies, including ceramics, high temperature materials, composites, and coatings (thermal / environmental barrier coatings - TBC/EBC)\n· Collaborate with other scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop and test new materials, processes, and ceramic technologies.\n· Present research findings to internal teams and meetings.\nIdeal Candidate:\nIdeal candidate should be pursuing course in ceramics, material science, chemistry, or related fields.\nRequired Qualifications:\n· Student of M.Tech/MS in ceramics, material science, chemistry, or related fields.\n· Basic understanding of conducting experimental research and development in materials technologies, especially ceramics and ceramic composites.\n· Strong understanding of ceramics science (oxides, non-oxides, silicates and glasses), high- & low temperature synthesis methods, phase reactions, stability and phase equilibria, chemical, structural & microstructural aspects & their characterization.\n· Strong understanding of processing & consolidation methods of technical ceramics, including preparation of powders, sols & slurries & formulations using additives, green consolidation, spray/dip coating, curing & sintering.\n· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.\n· Good teaming skills and ability to work with wide range of technical teams and projects.\nDesired Qualifications:\nHumble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn\nTransparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively\nFocused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed\nLeadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative\nProblem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker.\nAt GE Aerospace, we have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and more sustainable flight and believe in our talented people to make it happen.
