If they are right, nobody notices. Getting them right is what our team does.As a Lead Engineer in the Engine Mounts team within Engineering Sciences at GE Aerospace Bengaluru, you will own the structural integrity and airworthiness of engine attachment hardware across our commercial engine portfolio, from in-service engines such as the CF34, GE90 and GEnx, to the GE9X, to next-generation propulsion concepts including the RISE programme.\nEngine mounts are the load path between the engine and the aircraft, so this is as much an engine-to-wing integration role as it is a component design role. Everything the engine does, thrust, manoeuvre and gust loads, thermal growth, backbone bending, vibration, and the extreme transient of a fan blade-out event, is reacted through the engine mounts and passed into the pylon and wing. Getting that interface right means working across two certification worlds at once - FAA Part 33 (engine certification) and FAA Part 25 (aircraft certification).\nFew roles in the industry offer that breadth of exposure, and even fewer offer it alongside both mature-fleet and clean-sheet technology work. You will see your decisions turn into hardware, and you will see that hardware fly.\nJob Description\nSite Overview\nEstablished in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.\nRole Overview:\nOwn and meet on-time commitments across new product introduction, in-service sustaining, and advanced technology programmes, balancing competing priorities without compromising safety or quality.\nExecute design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles, GE Aerospace design practices, and established business standards - combining classical hand calculations with finite element analysis to size and justify engine components and modules.\nDefine and control how the engine attaches to the aircraft - mount system architecture, load paths and reactions, interface loads and geometry, stiffness and clearance budgets, and thermal growth and deflection management across the installed configuration.\nAssess mount and interface hardware against flight, ground, manoeuvre, and limit and ultimate load conditions, including critical transient events such as fan blade-out and windmilling imbalance, and support the whole-engine and installed-system models that underpin them.\nPartner with manufacturing shops and suppliers to resolve non-conforming hardware and production issues, including Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, Departure Records, etc., driving improved producibility and on-time delivery to our customers.\nApply technical judgement and data analysis to moderately complex engineering, manufacturing, and product issues. Bring fresh perspective to established solutions, and draw on sources beyond your own function to reach the right answer.\nPresent findings, recommendations, and results in design reviews, technical reports, memos, and presentations, to peers, programme leaders, and external partners alike.\nIdeal Candidate:\nIdeal candidate should have experience in solid mechanics and mechanical design, with practical, hands-on experience in finite element analysis (FEA).\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or a related engineering discipline, with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with relevant research or industry experience. Equivalent qualifications and experience will be considered.\nStrong foundation in solid mechanics and mechanical design, with practical, hands-on experience in finite element analysis (FEA).\nA track record of delivering results across multiple concurrent projects, balancing timing and quality of outcomes.\nAbility to make priority trade-offs that optimise overall programme delivery rather than any single task.\nClear written and spoken communication in English.\nPreferred Qualification:\nExperience with aircraft engine mounts, aero-structures, or other highly loaded structural hardware.\nExposure to engine-to-wing or propulsion system integration - pylon and nacelle interfaces, installed engine loads, interface control documents, or engine build-up and quick engine change configurations.\nExperience with whole-engine or installed-system structural models, interface load extraction, or transient load events such as fan blade-out and windmilling.\nDirect working experience with aircraft manufacturers or structural suppliers on a shared interface.\nMaterial Review Board (MRB) certification in the structures domain, or experience supporting non-conformance dispositions.\nFamiliarity with FAA Part 33 and/or Part 25 certification processes.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing and inspection processes, and of structural repair methods.\nComfort with digital and analytics tools to enable data-driven engineering decisions - including automation of repetitive analysis work.\nA systems-thinking approach: connecting hardware decisions to programme cost, schedule, and certification outcomes.\nStrong interpersonal skills and an instinct for building networks across functions, sites, and supplier partners.\nA quick learner who prioritises strategically, challenges existing processes constructively, and follows through.\nAt GE Aerospace, we have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and more sustainable flight and believe in our talented people to make it happen. Here, you will have the opportunity to work on really cool things with really smart and collaborative people. Together, we will mobilize a new era of growth in aerospace and defense. Where others stop, we accelerate.\nAdditional Information\nRelocation Assistance Provided: Yes","description_format":"text","description_chars":6065,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":4,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"English","level":"Upper-Intermediate (B2)","optional":false}]},"benefits":["Relocation assistance"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":true,"industries":["Aerospace Manufacturing","Defense Manufacturing"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-20T03:39:51Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":49,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":0.9,"p_active":0.606,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":7,"expected_fill_days":17,"reasons":["conf:72","stale_co","velocity","win:mid","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-26T05:57:25Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/ge-aerospace-lead-engineer-engine-mounts","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/ge-aerospace-lead-engineer-engine-mounts.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-26T18:12:10Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":24446,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-27T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":13089},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=13089"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fge-aerospace-lead-engineer-engine-mounts"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fge-aerospace-lead-engineer-engine-mounts"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fge-aerospace-lead-engineer-engine-mounts"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/ge-aerospace-lead-engineer-engine-mounts\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fge-aerospace-lead-engineer-engine-mounts"}]}
