This is a build-and-operate seat focused on getting platform capability into product teams' hands and keeping it reliable.The role builds to standards rather than defining them, and grows into deeper ownership over time. Success improves Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost by expanding the paved road's coverage and keeping day-to-day platform operations dependable.\nJob Description\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nPlatform build\nBuild and maintain features of the golden-path pipeline, shared services, and environments\nImplement infrastructure-as-code for provisioning and environment management\nOperations and reliability\nParticipate in monitoring, alerting, and the on-call rotation; respond to incidents and support post-incident problem solving\nHelp meet the service-level objectives for platform services\nEnablement\nSupport product teams onboarding to the paved road and maintain the technical documentation they build against\nStandards conformance\nBuild to the architecture and platform standards set above the role, raising gaps with a proposed pattern rather than a local workaround\nBasic qualifications (required)\nBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience OR Associate's degree with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with a minimum of 9 years of professional experience.\nMinimum 3 years of professional experience in Infrastructure & Platform Engineering or IT.\nNote: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.\nEligibility requirement\nLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE Aerospace will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.\nDesired characteristics (preferred, not mandatory)\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering (STEM major preferred).\nCertification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer, or Microsoft Azure Administrator or Developer Associate.\nHands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, containers, and basic observability.\nExposure to operating production services, including monitoring and on-call participation.\nScripting and automation ability (e.g., Python, Bash) and version-control discipline.\nComfort as a hands-on contributor on a lean, standards-driven team.\nDefense, aerospace, or other regulated or export-controlled environment background.\nSuccess metrics\nPlatform features and automation delivered within sprint capacity\nReliability contribution: monitoring coverage and incident-response participation\nInfrastructure-as-code adoption for the components owned\nDocumentation kept current for teams onboarding to the paved road\nRework caused by standards non-conformance\nWhy this role\nThis is where platform capability gets built and kept running day to day. On a small, standards-driven team you will see what you build go straight into product teams' hands, learn SRE and platform engineering from the senior engineer, and grow into deeper ownership of the paved road.\nNotes:\nThe base pay range for this position is $112, 000 to $165,000 annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
