Guides technical support & troubleshooting process issues and drives operational improvements, through effective problem solving and corrective action implementation, to continuously improve safety, quality, delivery, cost & morale.\nPosition\nSenior Process Improvement EngineerLocation\nUSA, Decatur, ALHow You'll Create Possibilities\nEQUIPMENT:\nOwn all equipment and tooling in the production area, from Engineering sign-off and forward.\nServe as the primary troubleshooting resource for the process in the plant. Consult with maintenance staff on equipment repair.\nMonitor and work to improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) in the area.\nRecommend equipment and tooling for existing process; consult and sign-off on new purchases when applicable.\nResponsible for and lead corrective action for Preventative Maintenance plans to ensure compliance and maximize equipment uptime.\nOwn Total Preventive Maintenance activities for the area.\nConsult with Maintenance Business Leader on the maintenance action item list and/or priorities for the area.\nProvide feedback on equipment specifications based upon GE Appliances equipment standard and lessons learned.\nSAFETY:\nSupport Business Leader by identifying and implementing safety-related corrective actions and improvements for the area.\nAssist with action item completion for the area's safety action item list, including corrective actions from near misses, accident reports & ergo assessments.\nUpdate any inefficiencies in lock out tag out (LOTO) and attend annual training sessions.\nPROCESS CONTROL:\nActive participant in the development of the Manufacturing Control Plan and ensure it is adhered to within the production area.\nMaintain process-level standards/procedures.\nWork cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to quickly address, identify root cause and solve production line issues (i.e. Operations, Safety, Quality).\nCONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:\nEngage in and lead problem-solving for production area. Lead root cause identification of problems, implement appropriate countermeasures, and share across as best practice.\nSupport the Team and Business Leaders in the planning and execution of continuous improvement method.\nNPI LAUNCHES:\nCoordinate with Engineers on equipment purchases & qualification.\nInteract with Design Engineers/Technology organization on model changes for manufacturing line set up.\nReview product prototypes and concepts for manufacturability.\nProvide feedback to the NPI team on capacity, impact on operator and process stability/sustainability.\nWhat You'll Bring to Our Team\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical field, or equivalent education & experience.\nMinimum of 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering/Operations/Quality support roles or equivalent military experience.\nStrong verbal & written communication skills coupled with interpersonal skills.\nAdvanced computer skills - high proficiency in Microsoft products with the ability to grasp new systems quickly.\nStrong project management with high analytical and problem-solving skills\nMinimum 5 years’ experience in high volume manufacturing environment in an Engineering role or equivalent experience.\nOur Culture\nOur work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
