From driving the overall clinical research and patient-centric innovation strategy to delivering new digital and machine learning capabilities - we’re committed to leading digital transformation, improving outcomes for patients and providers, and creating a world where healthcare has no limits\nJob Description\nRoles/Responsibilities\nWork with a cross functional team to create software products under approved architecture and under the roadmap set by the product management team\nTake ownership of features end to end - from the user interface through backend services, APIs, and persistence - with high emphasis on quality, test-driven development, and sound software engineering practices\nBuild responsive, accessible user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks, partnering closely with UX to translate designs into production experiences\nDesign, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated test suites, and the monitoring and observability needed to operate the services you own\nParticipate in software design reviews, conduct peer code reviews, and provide input and feedback to other members of the development team\nUse software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all the team deliverables\nServe as the Product Security Representative for Tech Hub, ensuring adherence to Secure Development Lifecycle requirements and that security controls, evidence, and documentation are complete before each release\nCoordinate security reviews, threat modeling, risk assessments, penetration testing, security scans, and SBOM generation, and track remediation of vulnerabilities, security findings, and compliance gaps\nPartner with engineering teams on secure coding and dependency management practices, and track security metrics, remediation SLAs, and compliance status across components\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline\n4+ years of professional software development experience across the stack including front end engineering and modern design principles\n1+ year of experience with building scalable, distributed systems using a modern cloud framework such as AWS, Azure or GCP and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift)\nStrong experience with a modern front-end framework (e.g. Angular, React, Vue) and with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS\nStrong experience with Java, a modern Java microservice framework (Quarkus, Spring Boot), JPA (e.g. Hibernate) or an equivalent backend stack\nExperience using AI tools to enhance engineering workflows, optimize compliance checks, or assist in documentation generation\nDesired Qualifications\n6+ years of professional software development experience\nMaster’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field\nExperience with design/architecting large-scale distributed systems preferably using AWS technologies\nExperience with both relational and NoSQL data stores, including schema design and query performance tuning\nPrevious experience with big data systems, analytics, containerized microservices, serverless functions, and event-driven architecture\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code, GitLab CI/CD tooling, and supporting production software deployments\nExperience building accessible (WCAG 2.x) and internationalized user interfaces\nPrevious experience working directly with end customers to assess needs, identify solutions, and constructively resolve disagreements\nExperience creating, documenting, and communicating software architectures for complex products\nExperience in Agile software development, including building, tracking, and communicating plans, with the ability to drive process improvements and compliance automation initiatives\nTechnical expertise across all deployment models on public cloud, and on-premises infrastructure\nExcellent technical problem-solving skills and aptitude to learn new technologies and methodologies\nExperience working in regulated or safety-critical software environments (healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or similar)\nFamiliarity with design controls, traceability, audit readiness, and release governance\nExperience with secure coding standards, static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST), software composition analysis, and secrets management\nStrong understanding of Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) practices\nExperience coordinating security reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and compliance activities\nEligibility Requirements\nGE HealthCare will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
