What impact you'll make:

The Aero Equipment ITR Senior Electrical Engineer will be part of a team tasked to deliver wing-to-wing customer solutions for Equipment projects, from competitive proposal to execution of solutions. They will serve as a technical authority within the Aero Derivative Gas Turbine (ADGT) product portfolio, driving the design and execution of complex electrical systems, including generator protection, brushless excitation, and gas turbine instrumentation. Additionally, they will perform high-level load and short-circuit analysis while ensuring rigorous compliance with TR&S and Product Baseline Compliance Standards (PBCS).

Beyond the technical responsibility, the Senior Engineer will act as a collaborative partner to commercial, fulfillment, and manufacturing teams, leveraging deep domain expertise to resolve complex technical challenges and optimize project outcomes. By integrating a Lean mindset into the ITR (Inquiry-to-Remittance) process, they will support critical project milestones, champion Product Cost Out (PCO) initiatives, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable technical solutions that meet global customer requirements.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

Following are the essential responsibilities and expectations for this position.

  • Serve as a design subject matter expert for the ADGT product portfolio, including on electrical protection, brushless excitation systems (AVR), protection philosophy, fire systems, vibration systems and generator synchronization.
  • Perform complex load and short-circuit analysis and oversee the design of AC/DC systems, instrumentation, and control interfaces.
  • Ensure full project compliance with TR&S and Product Baseline Compliance Standards (PBCS).
  • Provide technical expertise, develops technical solutions and executes as part of the ITR process while interfacing with the commercial & sales teams.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, project managers, and fulfillment teams.
  • Deliver on project milestones, ensuring compliance with customer CTQ’s, business First Pass Yield (FPY) and on-time delivery (OTD) KPI’s.
  • Prepare and present design reviews to leadership, and provide on-site support during installation and commissioning.
  • Review design and risk mitigation needs with technical fulfillment leaders /chief engineers and communicate modifications to manufacturing and sourcing team.
  • Prepare and process technical specification for suppliers, review supplier drawings to ensure compliance with project CTQs.
  • Facilitate structured problem-solving (RCA, FMEA, HAZOP) to resolve manufacturing, validation, and site-related issues.
  • Mentor and train team members and drive a Lean mindset to optimize engineering processes and operational efficiency.
  • Responsible for developing and updating Standard Work Instructions for ITR processes and procedures.
  • Drive Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost in our products throughout the ITR process.
  • Actively identify and execute Product Cost Out (PCO) and Slow Moving Inventory (SMI) opportunities.
  • Drive CGER technical execution (including drawing redlines to standards, parts creation, etc.).
  • Support key project meetings, including Engineering Release, HOM, CKOM, and PSE Handover, ensuring technical alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college of Science in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
  • Minimum of ten (10) years engineering experience
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of Gas Turbine related work experience with strong understanding of gas turbines-based packages including auxiliary systems and balance of plant equipment
  • Minimum of six (6) years of focused customer service and fulfillment experience

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Relocation to Houston, TX is required; Must be comfortable working a Hybrid schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
  • Must be comfortable at most, traveling up to 25% within a year

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ten (10) years of electrical engineering experience in the power industry
  • Strong technical aptitude, including in applicable engineering tools such as AutoCad, NX and ePLAN
  • Sound knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including understanding of EU directives and safety standards related to design practices for hazardous areas
  • Experience leading projects involving multi-disciplinary teams located globally
  • Experience in Application Engineering and Project Execution
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problem

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
