Exercises sound judgment in day-to-day decision-making, seeking guidance as needed for more complex situations.\nJob Description\nRoles and Responsibilities\nEvaluate and develop technologies for modern control room environments\nSupport the design and development of the controls and HMI platform for reliable power plant operations\nSupport the design and prototyping of control system interfaces using simulation tools\nAssist in implementing security controls and best practices for operational technology systems\nGather and analyze feedback from stakeholders to inform controls and platform design as well as security improvements\nContribute to documentation, templates, and standards that support customer operations\nExplore opportunities to integrate advanced technologies into control systems\nEvaluate computing technologies to support control system feature enhancements built on generative AI\nRequired Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum 1 year of relevant experience post-graduation; or Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 year of relevant experience post-graduation.\nDesired Characteristics\nExperience in Human Machine Interface Design with Computer Programming knowledge, computer platform and network devices, or cyber security.\nInterest in control systems, user interface design, computer platforms including operating system and hypervisors, network architecture and devices, or cyber security including compliance and security control implementations.\nAwareness of large language and small language artificial intelligence models and prompt engineering\nFamiliarity with zero-trust cyber security principles\nBasic knowledge of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA) or SCADA systems\nFamiliarity with network devices and configurations such as switches and firewalls.\nFamiliarity with design tools or security control principles\nAwareness of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence \nGE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
