Description Summary\nThe North and South Europe Grid System Integration (GSI) team delivers a wide range of high voltage AC and DC transmission projects, and is looking for a Design Quality and System Engineering Manager to join the team.These large and complex projects are designed and delivered using a wide range of processes and procedures, and it is critical that the processes used are current, fit for purpose and applied rigorously and consistently throughout the full life of the project.\nIn addition, this role will be responsible for the application of a Systems Engineering approach, and ensuring that these processes work together efficiently, and interfaces and requirements are fully managed.\nIn this role you will provide leadership across the following three pillars:\nDesign Quality Management\nSystems Engineering\n• Zero Defect framework management\nJob Description\nJob Description:\nAs part of this role, you will undertake the following tasks:\nDesign Quality Management:\nProcess Compliance:Undertake regular audits on the application of the processes used by the Engineering Team at both the tender and project delivery phases.\nIdentify and document any non-conformance, and manage the undertaking of both the short and long term corrective actions.\n\nProcess Maintenance and Development:Identify and undertake the updating of existing procedures in order to create improvement, efficiencies and general maintenance.\nIdentification of process gaps and the creation of new procedures to resolve the issue.\nEnsure that the processes used by the Engineering team are coordinated, both within the Engineering function, and with other parts of the business.\nRepresent the North and South Europe Region at a global level, for the creation and deployment of high-level centralised Engineering procedures.\nFrom a process development and deployment perspective, support the introduction of continuous improvement actions.\nContinually educate the Engineering teams on the application of processes and the business expectations.\n\nExperience Capture and Capitalisation:Lead and manage the capturing and capitalisation of the learning experienced from current and past projects.\nFacilitate regular return of experience meetings during the life of the projects in order to systematically capture the learning.\nFacilitate both ad-hoc and regular communication sessions to raise awareness of best practice, quality concerns and areas of learning.\nIdentify and undertake any process changes resulting from both good and bad experiences on the projects.\n\nSystems Engineering:\nSystems Engineering Approach: You will ensure that the processes being used by the Engineering teams consider the bigger picture, and there is a significant focus on interface management and integration, at all stages of the project life cycle.\nRequirements Management: You will lead the small team of Requirements Engineers and ensure that all tenders and projects have their requirements correctly captured, managed and validated.\nZero Defect framework management:\nYou will lead the implementation of the ‘GE Vernova Zero Defect framework’, which is a management philosophy focused on preventing errors and achieving high quality by ensuring work is done correctly first time, into the GSI NSE Engineering approach to delivering projects.\nThe initial focus will be on delivering an improvement in the areas of Design Risk Management and Design verification and validation.\nRequirements:\nTo succeed in this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:\nA first degree in an engineering discipline.\nSignificant experience working in a role that has exposure to project delivery activities, and be familiar with the types of processes and procedures used to deliver large capital projects.\nBe familiar with quality systems and undertaking process auditing, and be able to undertake and use techniques and tools for process improvement.\nRegularly undertakes the creation of business processes & procedures, and provides education to the users.\nHave a working knowledge of ISO9001:2015\nHave a strong understanding of System Engineering Principles, such as those defined by the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE)\nDesired Characteristics:\nThe successful candidate will have:\nA systematic and disciplined approach to their work, and be able to present information in a clear and understandable fashion.\nBe confident to discuss issues with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts, and be able to propose solutions or improvements to correct deficiencies or improve efficiency.\nBe a team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills, be capable of self-management, and have
