GE Vernova is an American energy company created in April 2024 when General Electric split into three, taking the power, wind and electrification businesses. It builds and services gas turbines that generate a substantial share of the world's electricity, onshore and offshore wind turbines, grid equipment including transformers and high-voltage transmission, and nuclear technology through GE Hitachi and its BWRX-300 small modular reactor. Headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the company sits at the centre of two simultaneous demand shocks: the electrification of transport and industry, and the electricity requirements of large-scale artificial intelligence data centres.

Job Description

Join Us to Shape the Future of Energy

Are you ready to be part of something bigger? At GE Vernova Power Conversion & Storage, we’re driving the transition to a cleaner, smarter, and more efficient world and we need talented engineering professionals like you to make it happen.

Our electrification and power conversion systems energise everything from global industries to naval fleets. As a global leader in these technologies, we’re delivering high-performance solutions that keep the world moving safely, reliably, and sustainably.

We’re recruiting an Engineering Data and Document Management Lead to strengthen our engineering design practices across our product and systems teams. In this role you’ll lead the transformation and ongoing governance of engineering document and data management across PCS North Europe, ensuring successful migration from legacy systems to the global Windchill solution. This is your opportunity to establish robust, standardised processes that protect engineering data integrity throughout its lifecycle.

This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to shape both the regional implementation and evolving global approach to engineering information management in this complex engineering environment.

What you’ll be doing

Custodian of engineering documents and data

  • Acting as the regional authority for engineering document governance, establishing ownership, governance, quality standards and controls throughout the design documentation lifecycle.
  • Developing and managing document management processes covering document creation, review, approval, revision, release, storage, retrieval, retention and change control.
  • Developing, governing and improving Bill of Material (BoM) processes & data.

Engineering document management transformation

  • Leading the end to end migration of engineering documents from legacy systems to Windchill, defining and delivering the migration strategy to include data assessment, cleansing, classification, mapping, validation and business acceptance.
  • Engaging engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to drive adoption of the new processes, standards and PLM ways of working.

Partnering with global teams to develop and improve standard processes

  • Driving continuous improvement after implementation, monitoring data quality and process effectiveness and addressing recurring issues at source.
  • Representing regional requirements and ensuring lessons from the regional implementation influence the global solution.

What You’ll Bring

  • Significant experience leading engineering document management within a complex engineering environment, including responsibility for process governance, data quality or system transformation.
  • Experience of engineering data migration, legacy system transition or PLM transformation, and PTC WindChill, Siemens TeamCenter PLM or SAP would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working with diverse teams including product & systems engineering, within a wider project environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills. People leadership experience would be an advantage.
  • Detail oriented, with excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • UK passport holder, currently holding or able to obtain UK SC level security clearance.

Why GE Vernova?

At GE Vernova Power Conversion & Storage, you’ll join a growing team of passionate professionals working at the forefront of clean energy and national defence. Your expertise will directly contribute to projects that matter, both to our customers and to the wider world.

Whether you're powering a ship at sea or helping reduce global emissions, this is where your engineering data and transformation expertise can make a real impact.

We recognise the value of having wide range of perspectives in decision-making; and we foster an environment where everyone feels that they belong, that their contribution matters and they are able to perform to their full potential, no matter their background, identity or circumstances.

We also understand that not everyone has the same expectations about their jobs, careers and work-life balance therefore we are happy to discuss flexibility requirements.
