This role is responsible for driving a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory and corporate compliance, and managing EHS site personnel to support project execution.Job Description\nKey ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership: Partner with Project and Operations Managers to cultivate a proactive safety culture. Lead the identification and management of site-based EHS staffing, hiring and providing coaching and professional development.\nCompliance & Audit: Serve as the primary liaison for site regulatory compliance. Conduct rigorous, consistent site audits and inspections to identify deficiencies, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and verify the correct use of protective equipment.\n Risk Management & ITO: Support \"Inquiry to Order\" (ITO) processes by evaluating EHS risks and contractual requirements during the bidding phase. Assess and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.\nContinuous Improvement: Review and analyze the effectiveness of existing EHS programs, recommending improvements to align with GSI Global standards. Drive the adoption of digital EHS tools and platforms.\nIncident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations of accidents and near-misses. Identify root causes, recognize safety trends, and ensure corrective/preventative actions are implemented effectively.\nTraining & Reporting: Develop and deliver targeted EHS training for site personnel. Ensure all internal and external reporting requirements are met with accuracy and on schedule.\nRequired QualificationsExperience: 10+ years of EHS experience, with significant exposure to field service environments.\nTechnical Knowledge: Deep understanding of North American EHS legislation and the Power/Energy, Electrification, or Oil & Gas sectors.\n Communication: Fluency in English (verbal and written).\nMobility: Ability to travel up to 65% to various project sites.\nDesired CharacteristicsLeadership: Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nPractical Expertise: Demonstrated success in risk elimination, ergonomics, and project management.\n Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Gensuite (or similar EHS software).\nCertification: Willingness to obtain certifications as an instructor for CPR, Confined Space Rescue, or other specialized safety topics.\nLanguages: Proficiency in French or Spanish is a strong asset.\nAdditional Information\nGE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
