You'll work alongside senior engineers who will guide your growth, while you bring fresh thinking to how these components are designed, tested, and improved.This is a hands-on engineering role where your solutions directly shape turbines operating around the world and where solving a tough technical problem today means a more reliable, more efficient energy source tomorrow.\nJob Description\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and develop mechanical structural components for wind turbines, including composites, metallic structures, cranes, seals, and louvers\nPartner with System, Sub-System, and Component Engineers to integrate your designs into the overall turbine architecture, meeting turbine and interface requirements\nOwn the detailed engineering specifications and drawings used to source turbine components, ensuring they meet GE Vernova and industry quality standards\nConduct technical risk assessments and build risk mitigation plans, including Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), design verification, and validation test plans\nSupport the resolution of safety and functional issues on turbines already in the field\nApply a systems-thinking approach - understanding how a change to your component ripples across the broader turbine design\nBring standard design practices, tools, and lessons learned into your work to continuously sharpen how the team designs\nAbout You\nYou're an early-career mechanical engineer who's curious about how things work at a system level, comfortable learning from experienced colleagues, and energized by solving real, physical engineering problems that matter.\nRequired:\nFormal education and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is a plus, but we're most interested in your total experience and professional achievements\nSome experience in product design and development within the wind industry or a comparable industry\nWorking knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, ideally Unigraphics NX 3D-CAD\nWorking knowledge of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools, ideally Ansys, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across engineering teams\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time\nPreferred:\nFamiliarity with wind turbine structural components\nExperience with New Product Introduction (NPI), New Technology Introduction (NTI) development, or structured problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)\nExperience collaborating in project teams across an international environment\nWhat You'll Gain\nGE Vernova employees rise to the challenge of building a world that works.
