A core mandate of this position is the end-to-end planning of compliance testing, including the seamless coordination and interface with external testing laboratories.Job Description\nRoles and Responsibilities\nStrategic Oversight: Lead the technical architecture and end-to-end development lifecycle for complex hardware systems, ensuring external partners align with GE Vernova’s rigorous engineering standards.\nEngineering Authority: Serve as the final technical gatekeeper for outsourced designs, conducting critical schematic/PCB reviews and executing hands-on validation to resolve systemic roadblocks.\n Compliance Strategy: Define and execute comprehensive global compliance programs (EMC/EMI, safety, environmental), taking full ownership of certification strategies for international markets.\nPartner Integration: Act as the primary technical interface with global design and testing partners, driving accountability for design maturity, manufacturing readiness, and system-level performance.\nWorkflow Optimization: Modernize outsourcing processes by leveraging data-driven insights to identify design inefficiencies and implement standardized documentation workflows.\nQuality Remediation: Lead root-cause analysis and remediation efforts for test failures, ensuring that outsourced hardware meets or exceeds internal performance benchmarks.\nTechnical Mentorship: Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence by mentoring cross-functional teams on best practices for hardware design, regulatory compliance, and partner management.\nAdvanced Resource Utilization: Integrate emerging digital engineering tools and AI-driven technical databases to accelerate the benchmarking of global regulatory requirements and design best practices.\nRequirements\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.\nHardware Design Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in hardware design, design reviews, and validation within an enterprise environment.\n Compliance Leadership: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience managing compliance testing programs (UL, CE, EMC/EMI) and directing technical strategy with external test facilities.\nVendor/Outsourcing Management: Minimum of 1 year of experience managing technical deliverables and performance metrics for outsourced design partners or contract manufacturers.\nWork Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the Canada or Brazil.\nDesired Qualifications\nAdvanced Credentials: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering.\nBudget Oversight: Experience managing hardware R&D budgets or external development contracts exceeding $1M annually.\n Certification: Active Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification in technical program management.\n Domain Expertise: In-depth knowledge of global energy infrastructure hardware standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, UL 1741).\nScalability Experience: Proven track record of managing 3+ concurrent global development projects while maintaining 100% compliance with quality and timeline milestones.\nProcess Excellence: Demonstrated ability to implement design or manufacturing process improvements that resulted in a quantifiable reduction in time-to-market or production costs.\n Design Tools: Advanced proficiency in PCB design workflows (e.g., Altium, Cadence) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.\nTeam Leadership: 3+ years of experience leading, coaching, or managing cross-functional engineering teams of 5+ individuals.\nStakeholder Influence: Demonstrated success in acting as a strategic bridge between internal R&D stakeholders and external manufacturing/lab ecosystems.\nCompensation for a successful candidate will be determined should the candidate move to the offer process.\nAdditional Information\nRelocation Assistance Provided: No\nCandidates should be aware that this role involves a client's critical infrastructure; shortlisted candidates would therefore be subject to heightened security checks as directed by our clients.
