You will contribute to the commercial strategy through their technical and economic understanding of the high-voltage substation market and will serve as the technical point of reference throughout the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) phase. #LI-ML2\nJob Description\n*English version below*\nResponsabilités principales\nAgir comme référence technique pendant toute la phase Inquiry to Order (ITO) et développer des solutions techniques pour les postes électriques haute tension et les réseaux électriques.\nResponsable de l’exactitude des offres techniques, incluant les spécifications techniques des équipement, l’élaboration et la révision des schémas unifilaires (SLD, protection, ca/cc), des dessins d’implantation, le dimensionnement des charges ca/cc, charge également de définir les clarifications et exceptions, et de quantifier les livrables, de limiter la portée des travaux, d’estimer les couts d’ingénierie, d’installation et d’essais/mise en service en se basant sur les spécifications du client et les normes CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IEC etc.\nRéaliser les études de base relatives aux postes haute tension, nécessaires pour vérifier la pertinence des spécifications et de la conception des solutions proposées.\nFournir un soutien technique pour les dossiers d’appel d’offres destinés aux sous-traitants et aux fournisseurs d’équipements électriques.\nSoutenir l’équipe commerciale lors des présentations techniques aux clients.\nDévelopper des méthodologies, des modèles et des bibliothèques afin d’améliorer la précision et l’efficacité des estimations de coûts.\nRédiger les spécifications techniques des équipements et services et collaborer avec les chefs de projet et l’équipe Approvisionnement, pour gérer les demandes de prix et les réponses des fournisseurs. \nCollaborer avec le responsable des offres (Proposal Manager), l’équipe d’ingénierie des applications et les ingénieurs multidisciplinaires afin de développer des estimations Ingénierie, approvisionnement et construction (EPC) pour des projets de postes électriques, de protection et contrôle (P&C), de systèmes et communications, de Balance of Plant (BOP), de FACTS et de HVDC.\nGarantir une qualité technique élevée des offres de GEV, en mettant en œuvre des processus et des programmes qui favorisent l'acceptation des offres (conformité ou clarifications), leur efficacité et leur compétitivité-coût pour le client, tout en réduisant les risques liés à la performance globale. L'offre doit être claire, apporter de la valeur au client et démontrer comment GEV répond aux exigences de son cahier des charges.\nPosséder une compréhension de base des marchés concernés et de la valeur économique pour le client, afin de contribuer à l'élaboration de stratégies gagnantes.\nConnaître les meilleures pratiques, la concurrence et les facteurs de différenciation du marché.\nFaire preuve de jugement pour résoudre des problèmes techniques et opérationnels de complexité modérée.\nFavoriser le consensus et influencer les parties prenantes dans son domaine d’expertise.\nQualifications requises\nBaccalauréat en génie électrique ou diplôme technique équivalent.\nAu moins 5 ans d'expérience dans la conception, les études, l'élaboration de spécifications, l'estimation des coûts et la construction de postes électriques, ainsi que dans des projets de transport ou de production d'énergie pour le secteur de l'énergie (production, distribution, transport).\nAu moins 2 ans d'expérience dans la rédaction d'offres techniques et la gestion d'appels d'offres.\nDisponibilité pour effectuer jusqu’à 20 % de déplacements, incluant potentiellement des déplacements internationaux.\nMaîtrise du français et de l’anglais, à l’oral et à l’écrit.\n(*) La fonction requiert de communiquer avec des collègues, fournisseurs, transporteurs et clients à l’international, le bilinguisme français / anglais est obligatoire.\nCaractéristiques désirées\nExpérience dans le développement de propositions pour des projets de postes électriques haute tension complexes et de grande envergure.\nExpérience des solutions clés en main EPC/EPCI, incluant les travaux civils.\nOrientation vers les résultats et capacité à développer des stratégies techniques visant à améliorer le taux de succès des soumissions.\nExpertise en conception de systèmes de transport et de distribution d’électricité, de postes électriques et d’équipements de protection.\nExpérience dans le développement et l’estimation de dossiers de conception en ingénierie, incluant les dessins, calculs, études et nomenclatures.\nExpérience en études de réseaux électriques et avec les équipements MT et HT.\nConnaissance des méthodes d’estimation de projets et des principes d’ingénierie des coûts.\nConnaissance de la conception physique et de la construction de postes MT et HT.\nConnaissance des systèmes de protection et contrôle (P&C), des systèmes SCADA, des essais, de la mise en service et de la maintenance.\nExpérience en construction, essais sur site et mise en service.\nConnaissance et expérience de l’utilisation des normes et codes CSA, IEEE, ANSI, NEC et NESC.\nConnaissance pratique des équipements d’automatisation des réseaux électriques, des systèmes SCADA et des systèmes de communication.\nPermis d’ingénieur (P.Eng.) aux États-Unis ou au Canada, de préférence.\nNous fournissons des solutions intégrées pour des projets d’envergure afin de permettre l’électrification à grande échelle et de répondre aux besoins de nos clients.\n-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nMain Responsibilities:\nAct as a technical point of reference throughout the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) phase and develop technical solutions for high-voltage substations and electrical grids.\nResponsible for the accuracy of technical proposals, including equipment specifications; the development and review of single-line diagrams (SLD, protection, AC/DC), layout drawings, AC/DC load sizing. Also responsible for defining clarifications and exceptions, quantifying deliverables, defining the scope of work, and estimating engineering hours, installation, and testing/commissioning costs based on client specifications and standards such as CSA, IEEE, ANSI, and IEC.\nConduct preliminary studies for high-voltage substations to verify the suitability of the specifications and the design of the proposed solutions.\nProvide technical support to create subcontractors and electrical equipment request for quotes packages.\nAugment the commercial team for customer presentations of technical capabilities and proposals.\nDesign and implement methodologies, templates, and libraries that provide the most accurate cost estimates with the least amount of engineering effort for a given customer scope.\nWrite technical specifications for equipment and services, working with PM’s & Sourcing to manage quotes and vendor responses.\nWork with the Proposal Manager, AE team, and assigned multi-discipline engineers to provide up to full “Engineer, Procure, & Construct” estimates for conventional utility, industrial, & renewable substations, P&C and equipment programs, Systems & Communications projects, and BOP projects including FACTS, HVDC Segments\nDeliver high technical quality of GEV’s proposals including processes & programs that make the proposals more accepted (compliant or clarified), effective, and cost competitive to the customer with reduced overall-performance risk. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical degree. \nAt least 5 years of experience in design, engineering, specification development, cost estimation, and construction of electrical substations, as well as in power transmission or generation projects for the energy sector (generation, distribution, transmission).\nAt least 2 years of experience in technical proposal writing and tender management.\nUp to 20% travel (may include international travel) and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies.\nDesired Characteristics:\nExperience with large and complex High Voltage Substation Project proposal development.\nExperience with Full turnkey HV Substation solutions, EPC, EPCI including Civil works.\nPassion to win--constantly providing ways to improve hit rate. Ability to develop the technical strategy after ensuring customer’s CTQs are understood and the outcome desired by the customer is defined.\nBasic expertise in the design of Power Transmission and Distribution equipment & systems, electrical substation, and protection devices. Knowledge of equipment installation, construction, and field operations.\nExperience with (and estimating the effort for) engineering design packages including drawings, calculations, studies, and bills of materials.\nExperience with power system studies and the application of MV/HV/EHV/UHV gear.\nKnowledge of project estimating methods and cost engineering theory.\nKnowledge of HV/EHV substation physical/outdoor design and construction including foundation design and site preparation.\nKnowledge of substation protection & control schemes, SCADA communication systems, factory and site testing, commissioning methods, and maintenance.\nConstruction, field testing and commissioning experience.\nKnowledge of and experience using Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) & American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards and codes such as the National Electric Code (NEC) and NESC.\nWorking knowledge of power systems automation equipment, SCADA
