Act as a technical expert to customers, service centers, and cross-functional teams, supporting the planning and execution of generator outages and upgrades while identifying opportunities to improve generator performance and reliability.Job Description\nRoles and Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed Test & Inspection Plans, Outage Optimization recommendations, and Work Instructions to ensure efficient outage execution and optimization.\nPlan and lead all engineering tasks and activities during the execution phase of projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.\nProvide engineering directions to customers and repair service centers, ensuring safety, quality, and effectiveness.\nResolve NCR (Non-Conformance) issues and lead the development and implementation of engineering solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to outages or operations.\nRespond to Engineering Requests (ER) promptly and effectively, providing on time delivery with high quality.\nDeliver projects with a sense of urgency, maintaining strict adherence to cost and quality standards without compromising safety.\nLead and actively participate in Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), driving effective problem-solving and CAPA.\nPrepare detailed technical proposals and scope definitions for generator upgrades and repairs during the tendering process (R1 & R2), ensuring comprehensive coverage of outage requirements.\nSupport generator New Product Introduction (NPI) development programs, contributing to the successful launch of new products.\nProvide strategic recommendations for the development and continuous improvement of generator maintenance and repair procedures, enhancing efficiency and reliability.\nSupport initiatives aimed at cost reduction, cycle reduction, and product quality enhancement, driving continuous improvement across projects.\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date generator unit records and configuration, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physics\n5+ years of proven experience in generator manufacturing, repair, and overhaul processes\nUnderstanding of stator and rotor rewinding activities and associated measurement techniques\nKnowledge of synchronous generator design, construction, and insulation technologies\nDesired Characteristics\nSelf-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills\nExcellent communication and presentation capabilities\nStrong organizational and coordination abilities\nCustomer service mindset focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost\nWillingness to travel to customer sites\nExperience with both legacy Alstom and GE generator technologies\nProficiency in lean methodology and continuous improvement tools\nKnowledge of measurement tools and equipment\nCommercial awareness and business acumen\nExperience in on-site execution and workshop processes\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PLM systems (RPDM/VPDM)\nThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
