Whilst ideally based at the HVDC Centre of Excellence in Stafford this role could be located at any of the GE sites but would then involve regular travel to the UK.\n\nRoles & Responsibilities\nConceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Includes the analysis of static (structural) and dynamic (rotor dynamics, vibrations) behaviour of mechanical systems\n\nIncludes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.\n\nUtilises in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy / strategy.\n\nHas knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market\n\nUses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.\n\nUses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.\n\nActs as a resource for colleagues with less experience.\n\nMay lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.\n\nExplains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.\n\nConveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nThe candidate will probably be educated to degree level in mechanical engineering.
