Designing and delivering advanced motor, drive and control technologies, we serve specialized sectors such as marine, industry, energy and all related services.We are looking for a lead electrical engineer to work within our systems engineering organisation based in Glasgow or Rugby. You will be responsible for supporting our contract manufacturing partners during the production of our electrical drive, switchboard and associated distribution products. You will also be involved in the design and documentation of our equipment as part of the project team delivering new solutions.\nDue to the security restrictions on this role, applications will only be accepted from UK Nationals who either hold, or are eligible for SC security clearance.\nJob Description\nRoles and Responsibilities\nSupport the manufacture of electrical equipment, including drives, switchboards and distribution panels, providing rapid responses to technical queries, managing schedules and helping to resolve quality issues. \nAct as the main technical point of contact for all electrical engineering topics related to ongoing contract manufacturing work.\nWork with our supplier quality engineering team to assess and approve potential new suppliers.\nCollaborate with project managers to set priorities, manage cost, and develop manufacturing schedules.\nContribute to test plans and support routine testing and customer factory acceptance testing.\nCreate electrical designs using EPlan and BoMs within Siemens TeamCenter.\nThis role will involve significant periods of travel, both within the UK and internationally.\nEssential Requirements\nA degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or significant relevant experience in an electrical engineering environment.\nSignificant experience with a good technical knowledge of:\nelectrical technology\nelectrical circuit design\nelectrical assembly\ncabling and wiring\nDFMA\nA track record in supporting manufacturing and product development, ideally gained in the industrial or electrical equipment sectors.\nThe ability to interpret electrical schematics.\nGood engineering, communication, and organisational skills.\nYou must be a sole UK National and hold or be eligible to obtain UK security clearance to SC level.\nDesired Characteristics\nDemonstrable experience in a project lead role.\nProficiency in the use of EPlan or similar software for the creation of electrical schematic drawings.\nExperience in the use of Siemens TeamCenter PLM software for BoM creation & management.\nPrevious experience of UK Naval engineering projects.\nAbout us\nGE's Power Conversion is at the heart of electrifying tomorrow's energy.\nIn GE Power Conversion we recognise the value of having wide range of perspectives in decision-making;
