Description Summary\nThe Main Component Upgrade (MCU) Technician (Mechanical) will work within the existing team in the safe execution of Main Component Upgrade and Uptower Repair work on Wind Turbines across India on GE Vernova Onshore Wind Services, as directed by the MCU Lead.Job Description\nEssential Responsibilities\nWork within small hands-on work groups during on site execution of MCU/UTR work\nExecute MCU work as directed by the MCU Lead, involving major crane operations using GE MCU teams, local GE employees, third party contractors, and crane vendors\nInspect all major parts to ensure no damage and that they are the right type or configuration for the turbine\nCheck and validate Inventory Tooling, Parts, any other items required during MCU operations\nInterpret the requirements of GE manuals, specifications, bulletins, and complete assigned tasks in accordance with GE work instructions\nComplete all the necessary documentation with respect to MCU / UTR execution\nEnsure data is collected to complete reports on executed MCU/UTR work.\nEnsure all work is performed in accordance with the organization’s JSA, LOTO, EHS and associated policies/procedures\nReport errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems\nSubmit enquiries to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved, and answer questions from Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Project Teams as required\nMake a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections and report as required to MCU lead/FPM/CMS.\nForm part of a roster to work weekends and nights if required or as directed by management\nPerform high voltage switching operations according to site procedures as required\nBe familiar with and follow all EHS policies, and procedures applicable to their job and report any injuries, spills, near misses or related incidents and any concerns about possible violations of this policy\nCooperate with GE investigations and EHS audits, and call attention to fellow employees of unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions and practices to their Manager, Supervisor, and EHS Manager/Coordinator\nComplete all required EHS Training\nQualifications & Experience\nQualifications/Requirements\nDiploma or ITI in Mechanical or Electrical from an accredited college or university\nMore than 05 years’ experience with minimum of 3 years in Wind Energy field\nProficient in fault finding electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment, or within their specialized area of expertise.\nExperience in overall wind farm operations and maintenance, installation, and heavy lift main component exchange.\nSkilled in using MS Office software tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.\nAnalytical & data manipulation/mining skills … advanced Excel skills (pivot tables), Access, Tableau, etc.\n\nDesired Characteristics\nMust have positive attitude and the ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities\nStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement innovative solutions\nExperience in the wind farm industry would be highly desirable\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nAbility to work independently\nGWO/GWO ART Qualified\nDogging/Rigging/Franna Tickets\nAs GE Vernova is a global organization, working across different time zones, and monitoring, reading and responding to contact outside normal working hours
