The successful candidate will lead the hourly workforce during third shift, ensuring that all departmental KPIs are met through proactive manpower planning, production gap management, and disciplined execution of standard operating procedures.Job Description\nRoles and Responsibilities\nDelegate work assignments based on current priorities dictated by production schedule\nManage daily productivity goals and ensure shift force is achieving the L1 targets\nCommunicate daily safety talking points (provided by EHS) and Encourage safety conversations- address concerns promptly\nDeveloping in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy\nUses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions\nUphold company code of conduct, procedures, and work rules for employees on shift and issue disciplinary action if necessary\nPromote positive shop culture and maintain employee morale\nOptimize indirect labor on shift- Initiate housekeeping and improvement projects\nCommunicate and follow-up with quality non-compliance incidents that happen on shift\nVerify that employee weekly timecards are correctly updated in Kronos\nVerbally communicate with Operations Leaders on other shifts to make sure critical information flows between shifts\nCommunicates with direct team and supervisor\nRequired Qualifications\n Ability to work 3rd Shift (11pm - 7am), will train for about 2 weeks on 1st Shift\nAssociates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role (manufacturing or similar industry preferred) OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing or leadership position OR 3-4 years of Military Training\nMust be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future\nThis position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY\nDesired Characteristics\nEngineering or Management Degree\nPrevious Shift Supervisor - preferred from warehousing delivery type environment\nLean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified\nManufacturing experience relevant to heavy duty equipment\nExperience running projects in a machine shop environment\nDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems\nAbility to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines\nEstablished project management skills\nBenefits Available to You\nGE Vernova employees rise to the challenge of building a world that works.
