As a Senior Principal Systems Architect - Power Systems, you will govern the design and integration of complex power generation and industrial electrification systems. You will bridge the gap between business objectives and technical execution, leading the architecture from concept through to commissioning. Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Governance: Develop and standardize reference architectures for power generation, data centers, microgrids, and hybrid plants.
- Technical Integration: Lead the integration of "inside-the-fence-line" assets (Gas Turbines, BESS, STATCOMs, substations, and electrical gear).
- Requirements Management: Define system baselines, interface definitions, and validation strategies (FAT/SAT).
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with internal business units (Grid, Gas Power, Digital) and external stakeholders to drive technical alignment.
- Performance Validation: Review power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash) to ensure design integrity.
- Mentorship: Provide technical leadership to engineering teams, advancing systems engineering best practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power Systems, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
- 12-15+ years of experience in power generation, EPC projects, or transmission & distribution infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of “inside-the-fenceline” equipment and industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NERC, NFPA).
- Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex technical interfaces.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence executive leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- Expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and requirements management tools.
- Experience with PLC/SCADA systems, IEC 61850 architectures, and grid code compliance.
- Deep understanding of lifecycle asset management and reliability engineering.
