These projects involve a combination of protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, telecom equipment (switches, routers, firewalls), and servers running various applications such as human-machine interfaces, automation algorithms, and archiving processes.The Senior Project Manager is responsible for financial and contractual execution of assigned projects through established company procedures, maintaining a high standard of Safety, Quality, on-time delivery, scope management, risk mitigation, and financial control.\nSolid communication skills will be a key asset for the Senior Project Manager while reporting project progress to key stakeholders, including customers, end users, internal team members and leadership.\nJob Description\nEssential Responsibilities:\nProject Execution:\nLead the execution of complex projects within the Grid Automation solutions domain.\nEnsure alignment of project goals with overall business objectives.\nManage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.\nEnsure safety and quality through the overall execution cycle.\n\nStakeholder Management:Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.\nEnsure clear communication and manage expectations throughout the life cycle of all projects in the portfolio.\nCreate a strong customer intimacy and ensure its satisfaction during execution.\n\nProject Planning, Scheduling and Resources:Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.\nUtilize planning and scheduling tools to monitor progress, manage the critical path and deliver the project in time.\nEnsure optimal usage of project resources partnering with the Engineering and Services department.\n\n Project Budget:\nEnsure optimal budget control developing clear work breakdown structure and monitoring Earned Value (EV) also called Budgeted Cost of Work Performed (BCWP).\nEnhance project financial defining saving strategy and maximizing variation orders during execution.\n\nRisk Management:Identify, assess, and mitigate risks identified during project execution.\nImplement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.\n\nQuality Assurance:Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.\nConduct regular reviews and audits to maintain high standards of project execution.\n\nReporting and Documentation:Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.\nMaintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.\n\nExperience:Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the energy or Grid Automation sector.\nProven experience in managing complex, multi-faceted projects.\nExperience with protection relays, bay controller units, auxiliary relays, and telecom equipment is highly desirable.\n\n Certifications:PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred.\nAdditional certifications in Grid Automation or related technologies are a plus.\n\n Skills:Strong leadership and team management skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nProficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).\nAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to travel to customer sites and offices as required by the project plan (around 20%)\n\nDesired Characteristics:\nDeep understanding of Grid Automation solutions and industry standards.\nExperience with telecom equipment and network infrastructure.\nKnowledge of automation algorithms and human-machine interfaces.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\nAdditional Information\nGE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
