This role requires a balance of hands-on operational management and high-level strategic influence to drive sustainable EHS outcomes in a complex manufacturing/service environment.Job Description\nKey Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership: Lead, mentor, and provide work direction to the site EHS team, ensuring high performance, professional growth, and clear goal alignment.\nStrategic EHS Planning: Develop and execute a site-specific EHS roadmap. Influence site leadership and functional owners to integrate EHS into daily business processes.\nProgram Implementation: Oversee the development and execution of robust EHS programs, including emergency preparedness, fire protection, risk assessments, hazardous waste management, ergonomics, contractor safety, and crisis management and others.\n Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all corporate, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (Air, Water, Waste, OSHA/Safety). Manage the identification and timely submission of all necessary environmental and safety permits.\nIncident Prevention: Develop and lead injury prevention initiatives. Perform root-cause analysis on incidents and translate data into actionable improvements.\nOperational Integration: Partner with Facilities/Operations to identify safety-critical equipment, establish preventive maintenance plans, and ensure engineering controls are effectively maintained.\n Training & Engagement: Design and deliver comprehensive training plans (site induction, task-specific training, and safety leadership development) to ensure 800+ employees and contractors are fully aligned with safety rules.\nAudit & Quality: Conduct regular compliance and framework audits to minimize risk liability and ensure continuous improvement.\nSustainability and Security: Own and manage site Sustainability programs and Site Security\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (Master’s degree preferred).\nMinimum of 10 years of progressively responsible EHS leadership experience in a large-scale manufacturing or industrial facility.\nProven experience as a 1st or 2nd line manager with direct reports.\nDesired Characteristics\nLeadership Presence: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels-from the shop floor to executive leadership.\nTechnical Expertise: Strong background in \"designing for EHS,\" risk assessment, and data analysis.\nProblem Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex operational data to solve problems and drive improvements.\nProject Management: Proven ability to document, market, and execute multi-faceted safety programs.\nOperational Mindset: Experience with business continuity planning, incident management, and Lean principles.\n Certified Safety Professional (CSP)\nAudit Experience: Experience managing and auditing ISO 14001:45001\nGE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
