The projects mainly consist of developing power system features for Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs).\nJob Description\nEssential Responsibilities:\nIn this role, you will:\nBe responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure\nProvide domain knowledge and/or technical leadership to a team of electricity markets application software engineers\nLead and contribute to electricity market application development and ensure software delivery is on schedule, within budget and meets or exceeds customer expectations\nWrite documents such as design notes, testing procedures, etc.\nProvide budgetary estimate for new project tasks to project leads and project managers\nWork with customer throughout the project life cycle to ensure the software meets customer’s quality standards and functional requirements.\nMentor junior team members\nInteract with Product Development Team, Customers, Solution Providers (Partner / Integrators), and other cross-functional teams as required.\nApply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, software and product security, scalability, documentation practices, refactoring, and testing techniques \n Required Qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in electrical engineering in power systems or Optimization.\nMust have a minimum of Two (2) years of experience in Power systems Analysis with focus on Electricity Market Optimization application development.\nDesired Characteristics:\nPhD in Electrical Engineering in power systems or Optimization\nTechnical Expertise:\nStrong business knowledge of Wholesale Market Management System, especially PJM, Midwest ISO, Southwest Power Pool, ISO New England or Alberta Electric System Operator.\nHands-on experience in developing optimization software designed to manage large scale systems for Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch problems .\nContinuous improvement oriented; actively generates process improvements, champions and drives change initiatives\nHighly organized and efficient; able to balance competing priorities and execute accordingly\nStrong understanding of Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP)\nExperience with testing and test automation.\nStrong knowledge of source control management and GitHub in particular.\nDemonstrated ability to learn new software development practices, languages, and tools.\nSelf-starter; comfortable pulling together information from multiple resources. \nLeadership:\nServes as a mentor to newer team members in support of business goals and objectives.\nContinuously measures the completion rate of personal deliverables and compares them to the scheduled commitments.\nProvides transparency into problem solving approach and options.
