These tools are continuously enhanced based on feedback from consulting engagements and evolving industry needs.The Staff Software Engineer (User Interface) will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining reusable UI components and services that power the PlanOS platform. PlanOS is GE Vernova’s next-generation energy planning platform, designed to support utilities and system operators in making data-driven, future-ready decisions for grid reliability, resource adequacy, and decarbonization strategies. This role involves working primarily on web-based UI design systems using the React Javascript Framework and backend services using Python. The developer will be responsible, in conjunction with the PlanOS UI/UX Design and Devlopment team, for the full software development lifecycle - including requirement analysis, documentation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance - with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and usability.\nJob Description\nRoles & Responsibilities\nPartner with key stakeholders to understand functionality needs for PlanOS.\nWork closely with UX team members to refine user workflows and visual layouts using industry-standard UX tools such as Figma.\nDevelop and maintain reusable UI components using ReactJS, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.\nCollaborate with UX designers and product owners to implement user-friendly designs based on specifications and feedback.\nTranslate customer and business requirements into clean, testable, and maintainable front-end code.\nOptimize applications for performance, accessibility, and responsiveness.\nIntegrate with REST APIs and collaborate with in ReactJS, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.\nStrong understanding of RESTful APIs and integrating front-end with backend services.\nSolid grasp of UX design principles and familiarity with modern UX tools such as Figma.\nSolid grasp of the Software Development Lifcycle, agile project management, and project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps.\nDesired Characteristics\nStrong
