Job Description Summary
The SPE (Supplier Performance Engineer) develops and maintains relationships with suppliers to ensure they are executing our purchase orders in accordance with GE Grid Solutions requirements. Participate in the company initiative to expand the supply base globally.Collaborate with all stake holders (internal & external) for sustained annual performance targets across Quality, Delivery, and Cost with nominated critical poor performing Suppliers.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Product development & approval - Work with Global suppliers located in India to develop parts / products to meet the abroad unit’s requirements.
- Define product / process / documentation requirements and ensure compliance by the suppliers as guided by BCC project leaders
- Communicate with colleagues abroad to ask and / or provide clarification on technical topics as guided
- Involve in analysis of problem solving with supplier / SP engineering team
- Inspection of samples before approving them for exports
- Pre-shipment inspection - of critical parts based on serial production order from units abroad
- Record any non-conformance and ensure proper sorting / correction before parts are allowed to be shipped
- Drive Supplier selection by doing audits (SRG and process audit)
- Perform Periodic & Surveillance supplier audits and coordinate supplier self-assessments as required.
- Support, Collect, Evaluate and Perform audit requests from the Product lines.
- Non-conformity Management - work along with supplier team for Root cause analysis, deelop corrective action plan and implementation.
- Develop and maintain communications with supplier staff by communicating openly and honestly, treating all people with dignity, respect, and courtesy.
Required Qualifications
- Expected: Bachelor's degree in Mechaical / production / Electrical Engineeringfrom four-year college or university; and 4 + years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Incoming inspection, process control, in-process inspection, quality engineering, Supplier quality engineering in manufacturing environment is required.
- Low cost country supply chain experience. Including Incoterms / packing requirements / documentation requirements

- Other Skills: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
