You'll learn by doing: training in the classroom, working alongside experienced Technical Field Advisors (TFAs) on real job sites, and picking up the technical depth that comes from hands-on work with some of the world's most advanced power generation equipment.This is a traveling role. You'll go where the power is - helping communities stay lit, keeping turbines running, and building a career that takes you further than a desk ever could.\nJob Description\nWhat You'll Do\nWhile in the Field Engineering Program, you'll be supported through structured training and on-the-job learning. Day to day, you will:\nSupport installation, preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration of gas and steam turbines and related rotating equipment at customer sites, under the guidance of experienced TFAs\nAssist with troubleshooting and routine maintenance checks across a range of equipment types and vintages\nHelp coordinate site activities, including parts logistics and contractor walk-downs, to keep outages on track\nPrepare clear, accurate technical reports, job status updates, and site documentation for customer records and future reference\nWork safely and visibly - following GE Vernova's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and setting a positive example for those around you\nSupport customers with technical guidance on installation, operation, and maintenance, building strong working relationships on site\nOnce you successfully complete the Field Engineering Program, you'll be eligible for a full Technical Field Advisor position with expanded ownership and responsibility.\nWho You Are\nYou're someone who learns best by getting your hands dirty. You're comfortable on a job site, curious about how complex equipment works, and ready to travel - a lot. You don't need to know everything on day one; you just need the drive to grow.\nRequired\nA formal education with a relevant technical or Mechanical engineering qualification is a nice to have, but we're most interested in your total hands-on experience and what you've already done in the field\nSome experience in field services, power generation, or industrial equipment maintenance\nAbility to read and interpret electrical and mechanical flow diagrams, instrument diagrams, and use alignment and thermal growth equipment\nThe need to attend training in Houston for weeks to months.\n Willingness and availability to travel extensively to project sites (in or outside Taiwan), including weekends, holidays, and overtime as assignments require.\n English and Chinese proficiency (both written and verbal)\nPreferred:\nFamiliarity with gas or steam turbine equipment, or exposure to other OEM (original equipment manufacturer) products such as Alstom or Siemens;\nGood organizational skills and attention to detail on documentation and reporting;\nClear, confident communication - you'll be working with customers and crews from day one.\nWhy GE Vernova\nGE Vernova employees rise to the challenge of building a world that works.
