Owns the technical analysis of customer inquiries, RFQs, or tenders, to determine proposal requirements, scope of supply, and winning wind turbine configurations. Matrix leadership of technical team including application engineering, EHS, product engineering, product line and all other technical disciplines for proposal development.\nAccountable for ensuring high quality, well defined technical proposals that include applicable scope of supply options to position GE to win profitable orders.\nHas in-depth knowledge of technical and commercial best practices and how that work product integrates with other teams; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market\nSupport sales team in closing orders by providing technical expertise, negotiation support and timely responses to customer needs.\nResponsible to participate in cycle time reduction, proposal quality improvement and technical risk analysis and optimization activities.\nParticipation in weekly proposal risk reviews owning the technical risk review on each transaction.\nParticipation in order release from sales to project implementation and associated critical process steps.\nSupport functional reviews for forecasting, technical strategy development, technical risk management, technical issues resolutions, Technical Leader tools development & deployment, simplification, growth and lean initiatives.\nMentor team members with less experience.\nExplains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.\nMain point of contact for technical issues within the commercial operations team.\nDevelop deep relationships with customers technical team to enable collaborative development of their project pipelines.\nFacilitate periodic touch points with customers to enable bi-directional communication/feedback on technical and project-specific issues\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering discipline (STEM fields preferred).\nMinimum of 5 years experience in power or wind projects, including tender preparation and/or project implementation.\nDesired Characteristics\nProcess improvement & team leadership experience.\nSuccess in working directly with customers, independent engineers, sales, engineering, product line and project management teams.\nSome travel required away from assignment location primarily for customer meetings and negotiations.\nDemonstrated sensitivity to customer needs and awareness of market conditions.\nFluent in English.\nStrong knowledge of wind turbine components (gearbox, blades, tower, controls, etc.).\nKnowledge of mechanical loads analysis and wind resource assessment processes.\nMulti-tasking high volumes of work at various stages of maturity and ability to prioritize workload.\nStrong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.\nDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.\nDemonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.\nAbility to document, plan, market, and execute programs. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
