The role requires extensive international travel and may involve long-term assignments at customer sites.\nOwn and lead the commissioning and installation of continuous manufacturing equipment and production lines at customer sites worldwide.\n\nBecome involved in the project during the critical alignment/assembly- and Factory Acceptance Test phases at GEA’s production facility in Wommelgem.\n\nCoordinate and oversee the identification, documentation, follow-up, and resolution of outstanding technical items and snag-list activities.\n\nSupport and supervise the preparation of equipment for shipment, including dismantling, preservation, packing, and handover to logistics.\n\nEnsure that equipment is dismantled and packed in accordance with technical, quality, safety, and transportation requirements.\n\nCoordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Production, Quality, Logistics, Field Service, and other internal stakeholders to ensure installation readiness.\n\nTravel to the customer’s site and lead the mechanical and electrical installation of the equipment.\n\nCoordinate and supervise GEA employees, subcontractors, local technicians, and customer personnel involved in installation and commissioning activities.\n\nVerify that equipment has been installed correctly and in accordance with approved layouts, technical drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.\n\nLead commissioning activities, including equipment checks, calibration, functional testing, troubleshooting, and production-line start-up.\n\nSupport the execution of Site Acceptance Tests and other contractual testing and qualification activities.\n\nDiagnose and resolve technical issues arising during installation and commissioning, in collaboration with the relevant engineering and specialist teams.\n\nMaintain clear and regular communication with the customer, Project Manager, Service Manager, and other project stakeholders.\n\nMonitor project progress, technical risks, open actions, resource requirements, and schedule adherence during the installation and commissioning phase.\n\nPrepare and process installation reports, commissioning reports, checklists, calibration records, snag lists, and accurate time and expense reporting.\n\nEnsure compliance with GEA and customer health, safety, quality, and site procedures.\n\nAdvise customers on the correct, safe, and efficient use of the equipment.\n\nProvide structured feedback and lessons learned to improve equipment design, production, installation methods, commissioning processes, and future project execution.\n\nSupport the formal handover of the equipment or production line to the customer and the GEA service organization.\n\nWhen not assigned to a specific continuous manufacturing project, you will support activities within the Wommelgem production facility and/or carry out field service interventions at customer sites. These activities may include equipment assembly, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and technical support.\nYour Profile / Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.\n\nRelevant experience in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, or technical support of complex industrial equipment or production lines.\n\nExperience in pharmaceutical equipment, continuous manufacturing, process technology, automation, or regulated production environments is a strong advantage.\n\nGood understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, control systems, and industrial processes.\n\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical diagrams, process documentation, equipment layouts, and technical specifications.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a practical and hands-on approach.\n\nAble to take ownership of complex site activities and coordinate multiple technical disciplines and stakeholders.\n\nOrganized and capable of managing priorities, open actions, risks, and deadlines in a demanding project environment.\n\nCustomer-oriented, service-minded, and confident in communicating with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.\n\nOur offer:\nA competitive salary package including, meal vouchers, group insurance, health insurance, etc.\n\n20 vacation days + 12 ADV days (40 hours working week)\n\nAn international work environment and opportunity to work with top pharma customers.\n\nGEA will invest in your personal development and support internal as well as external training programs for your further development.
