Author will manage, plan and co-ordinate all aspects of the technical manual writing activities in order to produce installation,\nOperating and Maintenance manuals and pertaining technical documents, in the most efficient manner to achieve the delivery, cost and quality\nrequirements and targets of the business.\nThe Technical Author will be responsible for the training of Technical Administrators in the correct compilation of Technical Manuals.\nA good understanding of translation requirements is essential with the ability to interpret and translate documents utilizing all tools at his / her\ndisposal.\nThe Technical Author is to have exceptional word processing skills, and a high skill level is required in both Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF.\nJob responsibilities:\nProvide technical writing support to engineering teams in a cost-effective, functional and reliable manner aligned with industry standards.\nProduce IOM manuals from technical documentation and research for company equipment.\nPlan and prioritize manual workload, estimate hours for specific tasks, fulfil contractual requirements and report progress.\nCreate, store and maintain reusable standard documents for modular compilation of manuals across standard equipment.\nMaintain communication with design teams to incorporate changes and improvements into the standards library.\nControl amendment instructions archived manual updates, project-specific filing, electronic archiving and file management.\nManage translation quotations and related material with approved translator suppliers.\nSkills / Knowledge:\nExceptional word processing skills and a high skill level is required in both Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF.\nProven experience working in Technical Documentation.\nGood understanding of XML-based authoring, content reuse, single-source publishing, topic-based authoring, and modular\ndocumentation methodologies.\nProficient in documentation and illustration tools including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, and\nother related graphics/document management applications.\nBasic knowledge of ERP-systems (SAP, IFS etc.)\nAbility to lead on technical writing matters as necessary.\nAbility to coordinate with engineering, validation, design, and project teams to develop accurate and structured technical documentation.\nGood experience in interaction with Translation providers\nAwareness in field of Equipment Design concepts, P&IDs etc.\nGood technical drawings reading ability.\nAwareness of technical safety standards and applicable
