The role includes activities to improve part producibility, reduce losses, and build strong supplier relationships. In addition, the engineer drives technical improvements to existing products and resolves issues through immediate actions and short term planning.Job Description\nRoles and Responsibilities\nSupport projects with global key stakeholders from manufacturing, assembly, and test operations to develop solutions that support and enable engine delivery.\nEvaluate and help resolve non-conformances and producibility issues using sound engineering judgment.\nSupport improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through process and product improvements.\nWork with design, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and suppliers to address technical and production issues. \nHelp identify and implement actions to reduce manufacturing losses, improve part flow, and increase producibility. \nProvide day-to-day engineering support for existing products and help execute short-term improvement plans. \nUse engineering tools, data, and standard processes to analyze problems and recommend practical solutions. \nHelp build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal teams to support reliable delivery performance. \nManage assigned tasks and small to medium projects with guidance, meeting technical, quality, and schedule commitments. \nClearly communicate technical information, status, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.\nContinuously build knowledge of manufacturing processes, hardware configuration requirements, and product design intent.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field. \nSome engineering experience in manufacturing, production, design, quality, or industrial operations.\nBasic understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and engineering drawings. \nAbility to solve technical problems using structured thinking and sound engineering principles. \nAbility to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. \nAbility to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.\nBasic project management and prioritization skills. \nFamiliarity with engineering analysis tools such as FEA/ANSYS is a plus.\nDesired Characteristics\n Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and tolerance interpretation. \nExposure to non-conformance review, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes. \nExperience working with suppliers or external manufacturing partners. \nStrong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. \nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. \nKnowledge of turbine hardware, engine components, or aerospace manufacturing processes is preferred. \nExperience with continuous improvement methods or lean manufacturing tools is a plus.\nNote: At GE Aerospace, we are always searching for great talent.
