The TDI site in Dayton, OH is a part of Unison, a GE Aerospace Company. Unison is uniquely positioned to introduce the next-gen Air Turbine Starter for the CMF56-7B fleet. At the TDI site, Unison also produces Surface Coolers and Bellows to support the aerospace industry.\nRole Overview:\nOperate more than one machine at a time\nUnderstand coolant percentage mixtures \nBasic housekeeping of cell (5S)\nUses gages (calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, depth gages, bore gages, etc.), pneumatic tools, and hand tools to perform and inspect work\nUnderstand and use tool data (offsets, wear, etc.) to insure acceptable parts \nReview, understand and follow routers, procedures, specification, and other instructions for completeness to perform operations \nUtilize geometric tolerancing \nFully understands blueprints \nRead and understand inspection sheets \nProduce error free products through in-process inspections \nWork under general direction with minimal coaching in a Team environment \nWill also perform other duties as assigned\nProgram management in DNC system \nChange tooling \nIdentify and use inserts \nSet up and calibrate inspection devices/gages (I.E. bore gages, bar gages, and height gages) \nStrong attention to detail\nCompliance with and supports all GE policies and the “Integrity: The Spirit and The Letter of Our Commitment” guide\nExcellent customer service to co-workers, customers, and vendors\nWorks collaboratively and respects all others\nRequired Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or General education Degree (GED)\n6 months of CNC Lathe and CNC Mill Experience OR any technical schooling in Machining with CNC Lathe/Mill experience\nThis role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior machining experience\nPrior production experience\nAbility/prior experience reading blueprints\nAbility/prior experience reading routers and part numbers\nAbility/prior experience using work instructions\nKnowledge of documenting and scrapping hardware\nMust be able to read and understand specifications, be able to analyze and interpret technical procedures, blueprints and written instructions. \nAbility to work with basic mathematical concepts. \nAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practice situations. \nBasic computer skills.\nAbility to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nAdditional Information:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand at least 6 to 8 hours a day.\nMust be able to work with upper body extremities.\nMust be able to walk, sit, or stoop on a regular basis.\nMust be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds on occasion. Items more than 35 pounds will be lifted with assistance.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to moving high speed machinery and/or mechanical parts. \nEmployee will be required to use approved chemicals and may be exposed to dust, fumes, or smoke from normal machining operations. (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL)).\nThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
