We were meant to fly.\nJob Summary:\nThe Manufacturing Engineering Development Program (MEDP) is a 2-year development program in manufacturing focused on developing and accelerating technical expertise across the Supply Chain. Engineers in the MEDP will work in manufacturing engineering assignments to gain experience through a mix of on-the-job training and classroom education structured to provide a foundation of technical and leadership skills. You'll complete two 12-month assignments to cultivate growth in key technical disciplines and engineering responsibilities. In addition, the MEDP will foster mentorship and structured learning opportunities with our team of manufacturing experts. Upon completion, you will be ready for promotional opportunities to further advance in GE Aerospace.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nProvide daily hands-on support to shop floor personnel to help facilitate problem-solving and process improvements related to production or development labs.\n\nApply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing skills and interpret blueprints to facilitate component manufacturing processes.\n\nUtilize various design and analytical software to support and improve manufacturing processes.\n\nAdvance and develop manufacturing planning, processes and work instructions.\n\nWork with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to improve product quality, increase throughput, and reduce manufacturing costs.\n\nCollect and analyze data from manufacturing processes to drive short- and long-term actions that support production.\n\nApply Lean and Six Sigma tools to identify waste and support decision-making processes.\n\nManage project plans related to manufacturing changes and collaborate with various functions to drive action and project closure.\n\nQualifications/Requirements:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college (or an associate degree in Engineering or a Technology discipline with at least 3 years of manufacturing experience)\n\nDesired Characteristics:\nDesire to be hands-on in a manufacturing environment\n\nHumble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn\n\nTransparent: shares critical information, speaks with honesty, contributes constructively\n\nFocused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed, and takes initiative\n\nLeadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative teamwork\n\nProblem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker\n\nComfortable working in a fast-paced shop floor environment around various machine tools and equipment\n\nPreference will be given to those with prior internship or co-op experience\n\nDemonstrated commitment to community and/or university involvement\n\nKnowledge of manufacturing technologies\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer:\nGE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
