Partners closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, governance teams, and technology partners to translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions.\nThis role is responsible for leading complex analytical initiatives, overseeing data preparation and governance activities, developing reporting and modeling solutions, and identifying opportunities to improve business performance through data-driven decision making. The position supports a variety of business functions, including Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, Advertising, and Product Management.\nThe ideal candidate combines advanced analytical expertise, strong business acumen, project leadership skills, and the ability to communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nKey Responsibilities:\nData Strategy & Analytics:\nLead the design, development, and maintenance of data models, analytical solutions, reports, and dashboards. \nManage complex data extraction, transformation, and validation processes to ensure data quality and accuracy. \nServe as a subject matter expert across multiple business and data domains. \nTranslate business problems into analytical approaches and actionable recommendations. \nPerform advanced statistical analysis, data mining, forecasting, and research to support business objectives. \nDevelop innovative solutions to address complex business challenges and improve operational performance. \nLead data exploration, proof-of-concept initiatives, and research efforts to evaluate emerging analytical methodologies. \nData Management & Governance:\nOversee departmental data sources and ensure consistent application of data standards and governance practices. \nValidate, reconcile, and monitor data sources for reasonableness, completeness, and accuracy. \nDevelop and maintain documentation including data definitions, business rules, technical specifications, and analytical methodologies. \nIdentify, assess, and implement new data sources and technologies to improve analytics capabilities. \nPartner with Data Governance and Technology teams to support enterprise data initiatives. \nReporting & Business Intelligence:\nOversee the development and maintenance of management reporting related to key business and operational metrics. \nDesign and automate recurring reports, scorecards, and dashboards to improve efficiency and insight delivery. \nAnalyze trends related to loss frequency, severity, geographic performance, customer behavior, operational effectiveness, and product performance. \nPresent analytical findings and business recommendations to leadership and stakeholder groups.\nProject Leadership:\nLead cross-functional analytical projects from concept through implementation. \nManage project plans, priorities, deliverables, and stakeholder communications. \nDrive execution of analytical initiatives supporting strategic business objectives and product enhancements. \nCoordinate with technology teams on system enhancements, data requirements, and testing activities. \nSupport production implementation of analytical models and business solutions. \nProcess Improvement & Innovation:\nAutomate and optimize existing processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and data quality. \nResearch and evaluate emerging technologies, analytical techniques, and best practices. \nIdentify opportunities to increase business value through advanced analytics and process innovation. \nConsult with business partners on analytical strategies, decision support, and performance improvement initiatives.\nMentorship & Knowledge Sharing:\nProvide guidance and technical leadership to junior analysts and team members. \nReview analytical work products and provide coaching to ensure quality and consistency. \nDevelop and deliver training on analytical methods, tools, data interpretation, and business applications. \nFoster a culture of continuous learning and analytical excellence. \nQualifications:\nEducation:\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field. \nMaster's degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline. \nMinimum 9 years of analytical experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR \nMinimum 7 years of analytical experience with a Master's degree. \nExperience leading complex analytical projects and cross-functional initiatives. \nExperience working within insurance, financial services, or other highly data-driven environments preferred. \nStrong background supporting business functions such as Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, Product Management, or Pricing.\nTechnical Skills:\nRequired:\nAdvanced SQL/SAS SQL proficiency. \nExperience with cloud-based data platforms and databases. \nStrong proficiency in R. \nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: Pivot Tables VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP Charts and data visualization Complex formulas and analysis \nExperience creating analytical reports, dashboards, and data models. \nAbility to apply statistical, mathematical, and data mining techniques to solve business problems. \nPreferred:\nPython programming experience. \nExperience with business intelligence and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar). \nExperience with machine learning and predictive analytics. \nFamiliarity with data governance and data quality frameworks. \nBusiness Knowledge:\nUnderstanding of insurance products, rating methodologies, and insurance principles. \nKnowledge of Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, Agency Operations, or related insurance functions. \nExperience with project management, process improvement, and operational analytics. \nStrong ability to translate
