Perform clinical functions of ophthalmology technician.Job Duties:\nEstablish consistency among all ophthalmology outpatient clinics in regards to daily operational issues that relate to policies and regulations, particularly the Department of Health and The Joint Commission.\nCoordinates the orientation process through an active involvement with ophthalmic orienteers and preceptors throughout the service line.\nProvides ongoing education based on individual unit needs, staff requests, and physician request.\nAssists staff with on-unit education of new equipment, products, policies, procedures and handling clinical emergencies.\nFacilitates support and provides required education by identifying and communicating relevant in-services.\nFosters growth of individual staff members through mentoring and support of Career Enhancement Program.\nEstablishes educational opportunities for all staff through poster presentation, workshops, computer based programs, articles and videos.\nProvides leadership in management meetings and other committees as assigned.\nCollaborates with clinical unit management team to foster unit growth, identify educational needs and develop plans related to clinical practice.\nActs as a resource to the clinical team leader and team coordinators with annual unit based skills assessment and competencies.\nAssures age specific programs meet the needs of Clinics.\nPerforms all the duties of an ophthalmic assistant.\nLiaison of Ophthalmology tech co-op program.\nWork is typically performed in a clinical environment.
