This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee\nResponsibilities\nDevelop high-quality detailed design packages.\n\nProvide engineering procurement and field technical support to implement those designs.\n\nProvide expertise for troubleshooting and technical assessments of plant facilities.\n\nWork as a team member of an integrated project team, or as a technical lead for a multi-discipline task and will routinely provide input to system engineers and other plant customers.\n\nPerform walk-downs.\n\nRequirements\nEducation & Years of Experience - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school with a minimum of 5 years experience.\n\nCitizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.\n\nClearance - To be considered, you must have an active or very recently active DOE “Q” Clearance or DoD “Top Secret” Clearance.\n\nDemonstrated experience developing detailed engineering design packages for industrial, manufacturing, or other complex facility environments.\n\nExperience providing engineering procurement support and field technical support through design implementation and construction.\n\nStrong knowledge and practical application of civil engineering principles, theories, practices, codes, and standards.\n\nExperience developing designs and modifications for stormwater management and storm drainage systems.\n\nExperience with roadway design, site development, grading, drainage, and related civil infrastructure.\n\nKnowledge of soil evaluation and geotechnical considerations affecting civil engineering designs.\n\nAbility to perform technical assessments, troubleshooting, and evaluations of existing plant facilities and infrastructure.\n\nExperience conducting facility walkdowns and field investigations to gather design information, verify existing conditions, and support engineering documentation.\n\nAbility to provide field engineering support to construction and craft personnel during implementation of designs.\n\nDemonstrated ability to independently develop technical solutions to complex civil engineering problems using established engineering practices.\n\nWorking knowledge of applicable consensus design codes, industry standards, and engineering requirements.\n\nExperience providing technical oversight and coordination of outside engineering firms and contractors.\n\nAbility to work effectively as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary project team.\n\nDemonstrated ability to serve as a technical lead for multidisciplinary engineering tasks and coordinate activities across engineering disciplines.\n\nExperience providing technical input and engineering support to system engineers, project teams, operations, and other facility customers.\n\nAbility to develop technically accurate, constructible, and high-quality engineering design documentation.\n\nAbility and willingness to perform field work and facility walkdowns in an active production/industrial environment.\n\nDesired Skills\nActive DOE \"Q\" Clearance, desired.\n\nCAD drafting experience is preferred, but not required.\n\nAbout the Site\nThe NNSA's Y-12 National Security Complex, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is the nation’s only source of enriched uranium nuclear weapon components and provides enriched uranium for the U.S. Navy as well as excels in materials science, precision manufacturing, and stores enriched uranium.
