This position is full-time and will be based out of West Mifflin, PA.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop, review, and update electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation in support of the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project.\n\nCreate detailed component and assembly drawings from conceptual layouts, sketches, and engineering requirements.\n\nUtilize 2D and 3D CAD software to produce accurate drawings of electrical equipment, components, and systems.\n\nEnsure drawings and design documentation comply with established engineering and drafting standards.\n\nPrepare and maintain bills/lists of materials (BOMs) and other supporting design documentation.\n\nTranslate verbal and written engineering direction into accurate technical drawings and design packages.\n\nCollaborate with engineers, designers, product developers, and other technical personnel throughout the design and development process.\n\nReview existing drawings and documentation and incorporate engineering changes and design updates as required.\n\nConduct independent research to support design and drafting activities and resolve technical questions.\n\nDevelop working knowledge of assigned equipment and systems by consulting with engineers, product developers, and other subject matter experts.\n\nApply current CAD, drafting, and design technologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of engineering deliverables.\n\nSupport the design, production, testing, and delivery of advanced naval nuclear propulsion training simulators across a multi-site project team.\n\nRequirements\nEducation & Years of Experience - Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in a Design and Drafting Technology or related electrical design and 2+ years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a Design and Drafting Technology or related electrical design and 3+ years of relevant experience.\n\nCitizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.\n\nClearance - To be considered, you MUST an active DOE \"L\" Clearance or DOD \"Secret\" clearance.\n\nExperience with 2d/3D CAD software.\n\nDesired Skills\nProficiency in electrical engineering drafting and preparation of technical drawings and schematics.\n\nStrong knowledge of electrical drafting standards, practices, and techniques.\n\nExperience developing and/or reviewing electrical engineering designs based on approved technical requirements and specifications.\n\nProficiency with CAD and engineering design software, including SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, and/or AutoCAD.\n\nWorking knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated control systems.\n\nExperience with low-voltage electrical distribution systems.\n\nFamiliarity with audiovisual (AV) and/or telecommunications systems.\n\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and other technical documentation.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering and technical teams.\n\nStrong collaboration skills and the ability to coordinate with engineers, designers, and other project stakeholders.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.\n\nAbout the Site\nThe Naval Nuclear Laboratory is comprised of the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory located in Niskayuna, New York, the Kesselring Site, located in West Milton, New York, and the Naval Reactor Facility located in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
