This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, TN.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain comprehensive industrial hygiene programs to identify, assess, and mitigate occupational exposures (chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards).\n\nConduct qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments, including air sampling, noise monitoring, and other IH surveys.\n\nMaintain exposure records and recommend appropriate engineering, administrative, and PPE controls.\n\nEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOE, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations and industry standards (e.g., ACGIH TLVs, NIOSH RELs).\n\nPrepare and maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.\n\nServe as a subject matter expert during regulatory inspections and internal compliance reviews.\n\nDevelop and deliver training programs on key industrial hygiene topics such as chemical safety, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and hazard communication.\n\nEducate employees and leadership on workplace hazards and safe work practices.\n\nParticipate in incident investigations related to occupational health exposures and recommend corrective actions.\n\nConduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to proactively identify and address potential hazards.\n\nPartner with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to integrate IH considerations into process design and workplace changes.\n\nLead continuous improvement initiatives to advance safety culture and reduce health risks.\n\nProvide technical guidance on the selection and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).\n\nWork closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to integrate MC&A controls into facility operations.\n\nCommunicate compliance status, risks, and corrective actions clearly to leadership and stakeholders.\n\nRequirements\nCitizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work\n\nClearance - To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed\n\nBackground in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.\n\nExperience in ES&H with a focus on industrial hygiene, preferably in manufacturing, laboratory, or energy sector environments.\n\nHands-on experience with air monitoring equipment, noise dosimeters, IH instrumentation, and sampling methods.\n\nStrong knowledge of OSHA regulations, ACGIH TLVs, NIOSH criteria, and exposure control strategies.\n\nExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sampling data and recommend effective controls.\n\nStrong communication, collaboration, and training skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.\n\nProficiency with IH software, data management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.\n\nDesired Skills\nBachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.\n\nCertified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential strongly preferred; equivalent demonstrated senior-level industrial hygiene expertise will be considered.\n\nABOUT GEM\nGEM Technologies, Inc.
